Ricardo is 66 years old and has been a shoe shiner for 33 years. He worked a few years on Reforma Av and later, he was moved to his current spot. He is self-taught and enjoys having long conversations with his customers.
Ricardo works with a shoe shine chair, which is under a beautiful and shaded tree. Ricardo's shoe shine stand is located in the neighbourhood Cuauhtemoc. This area is residential with some office spaces.

My favorite shoe shine Kat! This was a very well narrated video. The conversation with Ricardo was intriguing. It’s funny you mentioned El Oso products to him. I currently use El Oso 2 in 1, followed by Angelus black hard wax. Ricardo used Alpha 2 in 1 creme wax which funny enough is a PACSA Shoe Wax product. I may order a tin of Alpha just to try it out. @@ShoeShinewithKat: Yes, doing well Kat, thank you for asking. Angelus is the “gangsters” shoe polish. LOL! Works great and with a small amount of water can leave a mirror shine. However, I have noticed that the El Oso 2 in 1 cream wax gets old and now has a strange smell to it. I’m not sure why that is, but I might be trying out the Alpha shoe shine product very soon.
