This is how you write and perform a song. BRMC are the most criminally underrated artists in their or any musical genre.

holy shit the lyrics of this song take me back to my youth and the girl who was supposed to be. 13 years later my story has a happy ending and we're finally married but god damn what a price to pay for being young, dumb, and arrogant. if id only known then the pictures on our wall would look very different and paint a more Beautiful picture. you never know what that one mistake may do to the rest of your life.point being, fellas,if you have a girl that is faithful and loves you no matter then dont break it cause you may spend your lifetime trying to get it back. and some may never.

my story went the other way. Didnt end up with the girl. But hey.. live and learn. Congrats on your happy ending and may your journey together be filled with more joy.

Peter and robert have such amazing voices on top of being the new lennon and mccartney of songwriting really. Saw robert play this live in st louis when he came out to do his acoustic songs during a break. He nailed it just like this. Such a legendary band when they were doing howl

Same story for me as well. I played the butt out of this song when I too was horribly fucked over. I learned to play and sing it on guitar. I weep internally almost every time I hear it. What would we be without music? Really....It's always there when you need it.

Time stands too still Left you there for the kill But this hope that sorrow bleeds Leaves a man with nothing There’s just no mercy in your eyes There ain’t no time to set things right And I’m afraid I’ve lost the fight I’m just a painful reminder Another day you leave behind Love grows so thin Suits your taste for bitter ends But this ache that holds you in Leaves no place to begin There’s just no mercy in your eyes There ain’t no time to set things right And I’m afraid I’ve lost the fight I’m just a painful reminder Another day you leave behind Words seem so blind I’ve been pushed far aside Soon my choice seems too small Any move and I could fall There’s just no mercy in your eyes child There ain’t no time to set things right And I’m not preaching to the choir I’m just a painful reminder And you’re a fool satisfied

This is the best version out of all the ones I heard but the last added verse ( not on the recorded howl ep sessions) it always seems to have different lyrics ... But this one seems to be .... "Why won't you see .. Truth ... Why won't you feel ... Love ... I'm on my knees ... In song ... Ah ohh oh ...x2." I've been there brother what a song '?!?

@soulkiss1001 Thanks. I'm actually well aware of who he is. BRMC is my favourite band. I was referring more the fact that he is addressed here as Robert Turner, and name which he stopped using several years ago... though, he is more than just Robert Been's son. He's a talented musician in his own right.

It may seem a little steep to say that but I kinda hope they never get that much praise and attention... don't get me wrong, i don't think they don't deserve as much (probalbly even more) than a lot of others we see all over the media but so far, as you are acknowledging they are one of the greatest bands around at the moment and I think that kind of quality in music a lot of us are looking for is due to a fragile balance that fame, money and shit like that could disturb. Would be a damn shame.

You know the cameraperson is not a guitar player when they studiously avoid getting the headstock in frame long enough to see the brand clearly! 😠 Unless informed otherwise, I'll assume he's playing a Martin here.
