Black Sabbath is one of the all-time greats in Metal music, and this is coming from a 26 year old who got into them during the pandemic.🤟

I have all the Ozzy Osbourne era Black Sabbath albums on vinyl. I first got a few best of and compilation CD's. I got "The Complete Albums 1970-1978" CD box set in 2014. I should have waited a few years, to get the editions you have. I didn't get a booklet of any kind in my set. Just the CD's with replica LP jackets. I got it for a great price, though. I ended up getting the first two Dio years studio albums on CD. I like them, but I don't hear them often.

Love the Ozzy years but haven't heard 'Never Say Die'. The album with Ian Gillan is also great. As for the albums with Dio, 'Dehumanizer' is the best of the 3 for me - and I'm still trying to get into the highly regarded (by many fans) 'Heaven and Hell' which I find less Sabatth-ish in terms of Dio's singing.

When I was younger I thought Technical Ecstacy and Never Say Die sucked. Now years later they are two of my favorites.

I saw them in Glasgow in 1973. The lights went down but amazingly when they came on stage it got darker.

I only own Paranoid and Master Of Reality. Both are quite good. I just listened to Master Of Reality a couple weeks ago. This was a relaxing video

‘Heaven and Hell’ is pretty decent for a non Ozzy Black Sabbath album. It kicks off very strongly with ‘Neon Knights’.

I love Past Lives but I think the chunk of it was originally from Live at Last, which was from the Vol. 4 tour if I am correct. Vol 4. was definitely a change in sound, but isn't that what made Sabbath stand out from all of the imitators of the first 3 albums? (I do like anything with Tony Iommi - maybe check out "IOMMI" from 2000 - there's a song with Ozzy and one with Billy Corgan that might just be the best one on there). Anyway, the only box set I have is Technical Ecstasy and I think it is phenomenal. Steven Wilson did a wonderful job separating the instruments and the demos are kind of the highlight for me. I really like that funky version of All Moving Parts Stand Still.

Great video, as always! Black Sabbath is a Mount Rushmore artist/band for me (along with David Bowie, Led Zeppelin and AC/DC) - *original KISS, The Beatles & Frank Zappa are always scaling that Rock very high as well) Anyway, as a Sabbath fan of over 40 years (got into them at 13 years old in 1979 -- Same for me..I heard 'the song' "Paranoid" first, in maybe 1977. But I heard it on the radio, and it sounded so different from anything else on the radio. In '79, a friend of mine had the Paranoid LP. I offered to trade him a UFO album for it, and he agreed! So off I went with the all mighty Black Sabbath! I love all 8 Ozzy era Sabbath LPs. And I personally dig both with Dio very much too (maybe esp "Mob Rules") "Born Again" as well (a record that still sounds "straight up from the depths of hell" to me) saw them on that tour too, and it was.....bloody fantastic!! But here's a ranking of the awesome Ozzy era LPs (along with my *three fave tracks* from each) ⚡ 1. SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH (1973) A National Acrobat, Sabbra Cadabbra, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath 2. MASTER OF REALITY (1971) Lord Of The World, Children Of The Grave, Into The Void 3. VOL. 4 (1972) Under The Sun, Tomorrow's Dream, Cornucopia 4. SABOTAGE (1975) The Writ, Symptom of The Universe, Megalomania 5. PARANOID (1970) Fairies Wear Boots, Planet Caravan, War Pigs 6. BLACK SABBATH (1970) Behind The Wall of Sleep, N.I.B., The Wizard 7. TECHNICAL ECSTASY (1976) Back Street Kids, All Moving Parts (Stand Still), Dirty Women 8. NEVER SAY DIE (1978) Johnny Blade, Never Say Die, Junior's Eyes *Goes to show how much I love Ozzy era Black Sabbath, with the debut at #6. I absolutely love that album! So there you go... Marc

I heard Toni Iommi had to tell Dio to stop putting "rainbows" in Sabbath songs. I hope they continue the deluxe box sets on the Ozzy era albums. Did you ever own the live "Reunion" or the BillWardless Sabbath "13" albums?

Larry, i'm an Ozzy era Black Sabbath fan. Although I love their first albums, I have a soft spot for Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Sabotage, possibly my favourite Sabbath album of all time. I consider Symptom Of The Universe, Megalomania and The Writ three of their best songs...

Sad to say, the first Sabbath album I bought was a NEMS issued recording called Black Sabbath's Greatest Hits, featuring very bizarre album cover art in a painting by a Spanish artist entitled "Triunfo de la Muerte"...the mixes were weak and not as loud as the Warner issued albums. My first proper Sabbath album was Paranoid, on vinyl of course (we're talking '70s here), but I ended up owning each of the first 3 albums. Dave Walker and Ray Gillen are the only Sabbath lead vocalists not to have recorded a studio album with them, but former Deep Purple vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes did the Seventh Star album with them, which was originally supposed to be an Iommi solo album. I'm not a fan of Born Again (Ian Gillan of Deep Purple on vocals), largely because the audio mix was so bad on the original recording. I did see them on that tour though. The Dio years are great, and the Tony Martin albums are pretty good too.

The first six Sabbath albums are impressive. I only own two of their LPs because they are usually overpriced when I find them, so I have all six on CD. Paranoid and Sabotage are the LPs. The debut is available on a 2 CD collection with alternate studio takes and Wicked World on the second disc. The Sabotage and Vol. 4 super deluxes are in my collection, as well.

Masters of reality was my first Black Sabbath album that I ever bought! I still love it today even though my musical taste leans more towards the grateful Dead and the stones and Americana, I love love Black Sabbath. ... Does that make me a hypocrite... LoL

Good video of the mighty Black Sabbath. So much of the music I listen to was influenced by them. My four favourite albums, I really can't split them, are Black Sabbath, Paranoid, Master of Reality and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. I really like Vol 4 and Sabotage. My four favourite non Ozzy albums are Heaven and Hell, Mob Rules, Born Again and Headless Cross ..... and there you have my top 10 Sabbath albums. I like Technical Ecstasy and Never Say Die but I prefer those four non Ozzy ones.

How does Steven Wilson get to substitute his mixing judgment for all these bands? And who wants them except for the PT fans. PT can’t hold a candle to the bands he’s remixed. I don’t get it. He’s been allowed to play with the art of the greatest bands..yes, gg…it’s absolutely ridiculous

It’s like Joe Schmoe for a lot of us. And HIS angle on things better or trump the original artist at the time of recording. It’s not his fault they let him ruin the artist vision.
