It's been a while since I listened to "Gypsy" and nearly forgot how great a song this was and still is...

I honestly think this album is one of Iommi 's best work, especially regarding the solos. So Crystal clear and emotional.

I have been listening to Sabbath since before it was popular! Airplay Beats your reactions on this journey are great! Keep going in order, after Tech Ech then Never Say Die will complete the original eight albums. Then the Dio years and Ozzy's Blizzard of Ozz!!

A VERY underappreciated album...So many great songs Tony is a BEAST too... I was 16 when this album came out and OBSESSED with Sabbath...Love them even more now...3 way speakers and a killer system...That takes Sabbath to a whole new level...

This is not usually the album I grab for when I'm wanting my Sabbath fix, but it certainly doesn't suck. It's just a little different from what came before. Same goes for the next album you'll review. Moments of brilliance throughout both of these albums but change was looming on the horizon....

Geezer hates this one, but I really like it. Killer drums and riffs. I also love how Ozzy sings it.

The more i hear the last two albums w Ozzy, the more i understand what happened next. Heaven and Hell AND Blizzard of Ozz defined 80s metal. And you can hear it especially in Never Say Die

People slam Technical over not being derivative of the first four albums. It is a departure from their old sound, but has some very interesting melodies and arrangements. That is what the music should be judged on, how it is presented at this time. Not as a comparison to older more familiar releases from the band.

Yeah I love this album, if they think this is different wait till the next one, never say die, That album gets slammed also but I think very good album

As a lifelong Sabbath fan (more than forty years, for me), the Sabbath discography should really be heard in order. Every Sabbath album, in some way, is a musical progression in their sound. A lot of fans don't like the "Never Say Die" album, but I *love* its experimental nature. The Dio albums are some of the best heavy metal ever!! 🙂

The song starts off very chipper, but then they remind you that they are still the same band with Tony iommi's slick riff.
@jeffmaltby61854 сағат бұрын
Yeah getting close to the Randy sound in solo Ozzy stuff. Around the 1:50 mark reminds me of the Little dolls part before the solo . Blizzard of Oz , debut solo album. Also what is a little weird trivia is Randy said he never listened to Sabbath but the lead in to the solo of Over the mountain is a dead on take from Black sabbath , Black Sabbath song.
@richpeltier95192 сағат бұрын
This song trips me out because it sounds like they're trying to sound like The Beatles. Never heard Tony go full on George Harrison like that in any other song. But like you said, still had that signature Sabbath sound. Ozzy's first two solo albums are unique in rock history. Truly a turning point. RIP Randy

You fellas need to hear "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" by Iron Butterfly!!! The full version though, with the drum solo. NOT the shortened radio edit.

1979 Ozzy got fired from the band. Sabs get Dio. 1980 we get Heaven and Hell from Sabbath with Dio and Blizzard of Oz from Ozzy, both are the kick off of 80s metal scene. For a Sabbath fan the early to mid 80s was amazing. Dio leaves Sabbath after Mob Rules tour and puts out 4 strong solo albums starting with Holy Diver and Last in Line.
