I am 61 and started my love for BLACK SABBATH in 1971 and got to see them on the "Never Say Die" tour in 1978. A new band, Van Halen, opened the show. Then I saw Ozzy's tour in 1996. And these Dudes are still going! I have LOVED ROCK MUSIC since I was a little kid, but bands like Sabbath, Alice Cooper, and the Stooges kicked off the music that changed ROCK!! HAIL, HAIL, ROCK AND ROLL!!! THANK YOU, BLACK SABBATH!!!

Erasmo Ganceres -I don't know how old you are, but I lived my teens and early twenties during the 1970's. I feel fortunate to have experienced that decade of Rock music history and to have been able to see many bands in concert. Many of the musicians who I was able to see are dead, and definitely, most of them are now in their 70s(I'm 62). I liked many of the groups, but BLACK SABBATH was the band that played the type of music that I had always wanted. I got a little taste of what I wanted, when I was 10 and heard, "Somebody To Love" by Jefferson Airplane. That song had a HARDER sound and I liked the NEGATIVITY. Then I bought the first STOOGES album in 1969. No Peace, Love and Flowers on that album! But then, in 1971, I was in 8th grade and a friend 'borrowed'' Sabbath's first album from his oldest brother. He stuck it in my hands and said, "You NEED to hear this!!!" I listened to it about 200 times, before I returned it. I haven't been the same since. I didn't think that I would EVER see Sabbath! But, when I got word that they were coming to Corpus in November of '78, I got tickets and me and my chick were THERE! I don't really remember Van Halen opening, but I DO remember that Ozzy wore the purple and green fringed shirt. They were GREAT, but it didn't last long enough for me. Then in 1979 Tony and Geezer wanted Ozzy OUT. But Ozzy got BIGGER and Tony Iommi spent alot of time looking for singers. I saw Ozzy in 1996 at what used to be called Johnnyland. Sepultura and Type O Negative(another favorite of mine) opened and Ozzy did a two and a half hour set in front of about 20,000 people. He did his songs and Black Sabbath songs. He was in really good shape and put on a show to remember. I was able to see some very cool Rock events and musicians in the '70s: Lynyrd Skynyrd in '76, Sammy Hagar's first solo tour in '76, Ted Nugent's first tour(Derek St Holmes slinging), Judas Priest"s first American tour(they actually opened for REO Speedwagon!!!)in 1977, saw Blue Oyster Cult's laser show(before the Government stopped it) and got to shake hands with Buck Dharma, saw Alvin Lee and Joe Cocker of Woodstock fame, got to meet Tony Stevens and Roger Earl of Foghat, watched Blackfoot perform at the Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin while sitting with Handsome Dick Manitoba singer for the Dictators, saw AC/DC with Bon Scott, Chicago with guitarist Terry Kath, Molly Hatchet with Danny Joe Brown singing, Def Leppard's first American tour opening for Whitesnake and Jethro Tull. WHENEVER you get the opportunity to see ANY of the Old School bands and musicians, GO! They WON'T be around much longer and they are the people who are the ROCK GREATS. Rock on, Bro!🎸🤘😝

I’m almost 56 now and was living in Spokane WA in Sept 1978 when Black Sabbath was there for a show. I was 13 and a half then. Had the ticket 🎫 that a friend had got for me but my parents wouldn’t let me go because it was a school night so my brother who was 4 years older got to go instead. Yes Van Halen was the opening band and the reviews were good. Still regret not going to this day more than 42 years later!

As I watch this video I can’t help and think how lucky all these people are. I was 5 years old in 1975 but when I was around 11 years old I bought the Sabotage album and Hole in the sky was my favorite song. So what are all these people in the audience up to these days? Do they remember this day? If you are in the audience let me know. I want to know what it was like to be young in 1975 and watching Black Sabbath live in Santa Monica Civic Center

I'm looking through a hole in the sky I'm seeing nowhere through the eyes of a lie I'm getting closer to the end of the line I'm living easy where the sun doesn't shine I'm living in a room without any view I'm living free because the rent's never due The synonyms of all the things that I've said Are just the riddles that are built in my head Hole in the sky, take me to heaven Window in time, through it I fly I've seen the stars disappear in the sun The shooting's easy if you've got the right gun And even though I'm sitting waiting for Mars I don't believe there's any future in cause Hole in the sky, take me to heaven Window in time, through it I fly Yeah I've watched the dogs of war enjoying their feast I've seen the western world go down in the east The food of love became the greed of our time But now I'm living on the profits of pride

Sabbatoge is the best sabbath album ever. Even in that other universe where people can spell and remember syntax.
