Good to see you stb. Sabbath was huge when they came on the scene for so many. The critics were just stupid. Loved them. Ty. Be well. They told it as they saw it. Together they were unstoppable then.

The "anointed ones" at the Rolling Stone especially. Fuck them then and fuck them today.

The “Critics” were probably pissed that it wasn’t a remake of Bobby Goldsboro’s “Honey.” 🤣

Well done! 50 years ahead of its time. In addition to the Dio era, I suggest that you also check out the very underrated Tony Martin vocal era, who did a number of Black Sabbath albums. In particular, check out, "When Death Calls". Iommi wrote the great music, and Butler wrote the great lyrics. 13 was their last album.

One factor that also influenced their content was where they were all from. The part of Birmingham where they all grew up was still littered with bombed out building from WW2. They grew up with the destruction of war in their back yard. It was their playground as children.

❤ this album ✌️ I hated those critics, I got tired of them Blasting Zeppelin all through the 70's . I'm glad I didn't hear their 💩💩💩 on Sabbath

Master of Reality is the last of the "big picture" albums for Sabbath. To this point they stuck to mostly external subjects. I think you have already recognized that Volume 4 begins to enter the more introspective phase. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath goes further down that road. The Sabotage album reflects their struggles as a band and is quite angry at times. I'll make 4 suggestions. The song Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, A National Acrobat, The Thrill Of It All, and Megalomania.

Definitely is about satan talking to his puppets that claim they don't even know him, yet do his bidding for him. "Lord of this World" is just different wording for what the Bible states in regard to "the god of this age".

Your experience with ignorant friends is all too familiar. I was a teenager in the 80s. A metalhead, stoner, long-haired kid who rejected to fake dayglow enforced happy of the time. Black Sabbath was my band... MY band. I'm sure a lot of us felt like they spoke directly to us. Ozzy put voice to alot of the things I was thinking and curious about and reinforced that it wasn't weird that I had deep thought about these issues, rather it was weird that most people were either too complacent & timid to question the narrative, too uncertain to trust their intuition and too controlled by their parents, religion, the gov't, polite societal standards... whatever. It was all bullshit, anyone with half a brain should have been aware of the thinly veiled propaganda, the obvious s lies, the dishonesty built into their systems of control. If you paid attention at all it was like the powers that be couldn't help but say the quiet part out loud. They were like a monologuing Bond villain or The Joker they could not help themselves and they told you they were lying, they told you they were corrupt .Anyways, the people who said dumb shit like your friends had obviously not bothered to listen, or they didn't hear the message and jumped to conclusions w/o any critical thought or were fed a narrative they didn't bother to validate, In all of those cases, these were not people whose opinions mattered to me in the least. Also it was the age of the Satanic Panic so people were spreading stupid shit like a mind virus. They accepted the most ridiculous, outlandish, provable lies & false anecdotal stories. If you don't have eyes to see or ears to hear then you don't deserve to benefit from the wissdom of the message.Your experience with ignorant friends is all too familiar. I was a teenager in the 80s. The video doesn't go with the song, it isn't about war. This is a very spiritual song. The Lord of "this world" is Satan

@@heinruh9788It's a personal story about rejecting good - God, ("your world was made for you by someone above") and embrace the "Lord of this world" - the devil. The video has nothing to do with it. Grow up!
