Not really surprising. Its a pretty basic song, without anything very technical in it. Lyrics could have already been thought of long in advance, but didn't have any music to back it. Ozzy could have just started singing some lyrics he had, then the band just improvised.

I just learned of this song and band recently! Better late than never, but i can hardly believe that im only now learning of this phenomenal band and their music! I guess, since there's such a lack of talent these days, I just rarely look for it. I guess that i can say that I was Tragically Surprised!
