I don't see you bob your head very often but it's great to see you bobbing your head to Black Sabbath.... that happens a lot when you listen to the great Black Sabbath

I remember when this album was released and we were still trying to digest Paranoid, and Master of Reality felt like it had just come out, and Jesus...these bands were dropping these classic albums on us every single year like clockwork, sometimes two a year. There just wasn't enough time to listen to everything, but we did our best and yeah, Volume IV was and is still amazing. Just what I needed with my morning coffee. Thanks.

It's a hell of a riff, and Ozzy's vocal is iconic. Apparently Zappa was a big fan of Black Sabbath.

Beyond just Sabbath , Frank said that opening riff was the greatest, and Frank was always right

I really love Vol.4 Sabbath. This was always one of my favorite Sabbath tracks. I used to listen to this for hours on headphones when I was in my early teens. Geezers bass was awesome, sliding all over the place. And drums, fantastic.

From my favorite Sabbath album. Cool as hell riff tuned to C#. Great you mention Down great band. As long as I’ve been a musician I’ve never done hard drugs. At 63 I learned from my “ heroes” what not to do as a musician lol.

I've been hearing since the 80's that Led Zeppelin's John Bonham really loved this song

SOUNDGARDEN also sounded quite a bit like this. I can totally see the Sabbath influence on them here. Looking forward to more Rush but I really hope you continue with the "play for you" segments Justin. They are great. Love to hear your eclectic choices and commentary. Maybe you could make it an on going series or at least a once in a while type thing? Cheers!

I've always loved this song, it's probably in my top 5 Sabbath songs ever. When the guitar kicks back in after that percussion break down its just so damn good. Vol.4 is also my favorite Sabbath album.

Talk about an underappreciated song. You can definitely hear how it influenced Down. I think Anselmo said as much. Ozzy (was he still "Ossie" at this point?) must have a horseshoe up his ass. A miracle that he's still around. The stories of his "krell wars" with David Lee Roth on the Sabbath/Van Halen Tour are legendary.

While everyone was ooh and ahh over Zeppelin I was listening to Sabbath and DP. Watching Geezer play is on another level. Might try some "Trouble" in your listening.

There’s no reason for anyone to try cocaine to find out what it does, when all they have to do is listen to “Supernaut” while jumping on a trampoline. I tried cocaine once (luckily I didn’t have to spend money on it!) and my face and throat went numb for an hour, I felt like I drank too much coffee, and the next day I had a horrific headache. So no, I don’t recommend it to anyone.
