For those of us lucky enough to discover this series we are treated with more than just an amazing story but a whole nostalgic ambience of an age long past and tales long gone. It's a journey that we can always return to.

we can still experience these old times. the developing world offers much of this opprotunity of returning to a simpler time, its what most of us crave, but alas, most of us dont realise it until we experience such bliss, the bliss of escaping civilisation. i believe the comforts of civilisation isnt worth the price thats demanded for it. we werent meant to be oppressed, but to live as free as possible, in nature and cooperating without the corrupted dictates of the powerful.

This show is a masterpiece the way they mixed real and fictional pirates was so clever. I would love a spin off with Anne Bonnie Lou Reed max and Billy or one prequel to black sail with hornigold thatch bellamy and jennings establishing the pirate republic. The docu fiction "the lost pirate kingdom" was great to learn more about the real pirates.

yes, this series made me very interested in the history of pirates, places like port royale, nassaou or tortuga should do series about the beginnings of those places. I hardly ever read and one night I found myself reading a book from 1724 just to find out more about pirates and their lives.

Beautiful, thank you for the work that went into making & uploading this! I especially love that you included the piece that starts at 9:21 , it's my favorite piece of music from the show. I believe it's unreleased, and although someone managed to extract the theme from the show and upload it to youtube, it is regrettably short... You extended the theme masterfully, it's seamless! Would you ever consider uploading a standalone video of just your extended version of that theme? Perhaps with a download link included? :)

(Spoilers for Treasure Island) Only problem is that by around chapter 6 or so, there are only like 4 characters from Black Sails still around: Silver, Madi (who doesn’t even appear in the story), Israel Hands and Ben Gunn. Plus, Treasure Island is very much written with Silver as the villain. I’ve just finished reading it, and it’s been such a weird experience finding myself really struggling to side with the protagonist Jim. He’s so annoying for most of the novel. ‘“God save the king!” said I, waving my cap. “And there’s an end to captain Silver!”’ - this was meant to be a triumphant hurrah of a line; instead, I’m just there feeling sorry for Silver and Hands, and all that they’ve lost to this kid with his plot armour. I’d really love if they could find a way to implement the core narrative of Treasure Island into a larger story though, showing the fall of piracy and how these people coped with the transition to being forced to live in civilised England after fighting against it for so long. Silver realising that he has this one final chance to maybe reignite the dream, only for it to fail and give way to the British Empire.
