The black shadow creeps in silence,
In corners where the night won't end,
Hidden beneath the dim light’s presence,
Like a secret no heart can defend.
It walks behind your every step,
Trailing close with neither sound nor trace,
Waiting for the moment you forget,
To appear at the edge of your darkest embrace.
The black shadow doesn’t speak,
Just lingers, still, by your side,
Taking shape from the fears you seek,
In the corners where thoughts quietly hide.
You cannot touch it, yet it stays,
Never free, though light breaks through,
Between the dark and the brighter days,
The black shadow still breathes with you.
Maybe it’s the mirror of your soul,
Unseen by the sun’s warm glow,
A story that’s never been told,
Waiting for silence to let it unfold.
