He's a the band Marshall he's carrying a stick(forget the actual name for it) but most bands have them .My father was a marshall with 12th district in Dennistoun(Glasgow) in the early 70s he carried a Baton the type the Police used to use but the Police in Scotland banned them as some guys were very handy with them cracking skulls open with them .

Sorry pal the Bridgeton District took a left and headed for Ballater st right into the Gorbals lol it was nuts tricolours outside windows and crowds of Tims outside the local pineapple. The Bands giving it laldy but not near the Chapel just a single drum beat until past it.Don't know if you'v ever seen "Just another Saturday"about the big walk in Glasgow in 1973 it follows a band all day then they hit "Fienan Alley"it was like that in the Gorbals 🤣

Hi Billy I have been on few Orange Walks when I lived in Glasgow. Glasgow Green, Belhouston, Maryhill, I was on crutches so had to walk on the road because I would have been crushed, the police kept trying to get me to go back on the pavement, but the lads onthe pavement said it would be dangerous so I stayed on the road, also there was a another guy on crutches in the road and one of the lads said I ain't seen you telling him to go on the pavement and they replied his Scottish and She is English, well I burst into tears and the lads took there number and after the walk we went down to station at Maryhill and made a complaint, I felt emotionally exhausted and amazed how they supported me alongside my Partner Owen, who was Scottish. I loved Glasgow and even though I live back in England now where my family are I do miss it.

And which bits of British history are you proud of? The subjugation of the Scots maybe? or the destruction of Celtic culture in Ireland, Scotland and Wales? The outlawing of the bagpipes maybe or the Kilt? The Highland clearances? The massacre of Glencoe ordered by none other than King William. The bands playing Irish and Scottish tunes both of which were outlawed by the English crown for hundreds of years, they played the fields of Athenry which is a song that retells the story of the famine at the expense of the British empire. So what part of this is British exactly? And how does it make you proud when it's intended to be anti British 🤔..
