@@TastyThriftyTimely you might find them canned where you bought the rice. you might also find canned mango which might be a sweeter variety than the frozen if you want to make this outside of mango season

@louisea966 oh right! Canned mango is a great idea. I’ve never tried that but I can see them being sweeter for sure and yes an Asian market near me will definitely have canned lychee if my local grocery store doesn’t 👏 thank you!!!

Profound, PROFOUND apologies, in advance, but I have a feeling you knew this would be coming from me, but... "I would like to see these mangoes... where are these MANGOES?!?" :-D I have a feeling she'd like any version offered to her, but Alison would insist on it being in a decorative or parfait form. I'm still so happy to see Bali sparked this drive to replicate the experience at home in you -- it's wonderful! :-) And I'm sure it tastes even BETTER than wonderful, so I'm going to have to try my hand at it! :-D lol I don't know how I'd compare to yours...

I wish I could try this with the king of mangoes -- a sweet sweet alphonso! too bad i've migrated and can't buy them around here :/

I don’t know if I’ve ever had an Alphonso mango actually (it seems like I might remember if I had!) we tend to get Haden and Ataulfo here. Now I’ll remember the name and make sure I don’t pass over any Alphonso mangoes I come across!

By the way that itty bitty wisk thing you used to make the drizzle was a laugh out loud moment for me! I've used wisks that are a meter long. Didn't know wisks were made so tiny!

Hahaha 😂 I use that whisk alllllll the time! I think it came with a little hot chocolate gift set I was given (you know those mugs that come with all the ingredients packed inside) and i honestly reach for it instead of a spoon every time I make a small sauce or dressing 🤣
