Nightmares Crumble The Black Templars are more soo witch hunters than anything else, they hate psychers and the warp, barely tolerating the astropaths they need to travel the galaxy. The Grey Knights are daemon hunters,they employ psychers to combat chaos in particular, they are also a secretly founded chapter most likely inquisition affiliated. Another main difference is that BT are very religious, in the latest codex being the only chapter to see the emperor as a god, and they follow their chaplain over others, the exeption being certain individuals like Helbrect and the old man Yarrick. They are not divided into chapters or other common space marine groups.

jd bee Wrong, Black Templars are superior, they are not only fleet based, and actively looking for something to stab and shoot. Black Templars have over 10 times the numbers of any other chapter, and they worship the emperor the way the Ecclisiarchy like. They have greater zeal, skill at arms, and unlike the Salamanders, the Black Templars actually get into combat rather that sitting on the side getting civilians out of danger, the Black Templars also recruit proven heroes from the Imperial Guard and PDFs. The Salamanders... sure, they like their flamers, but they never get to use them due to all the logistics work they do, and all the civilian assistance they give. The Salamanders may have greater armour due to their training as smiths, but they don't use them. Also Vulkan left a bit after the heresy, and hid millions of artifacts that will signal him to come back. Sigismund may be dead, but he was an actual badass, and his chapter attempts to be exactly like him: Completely, and utterly, Badass.

Like you said they are some of the most zeal compared to most chapters but in thier primarchs own words they were the most zealot of the imperial fist thier founding chapter. Their primarch was Rogal Dorn who is M.I.A
