@edwardstanulevich17646 жыл бұрын
From what I've read, martial scholars think hung gar is the closest representation to what was taught at Shaolin traditionally. This is in contrast to the modern performance forms. The hung gar in this form is undeniable!

i have yet to see any of these styles work in real world applications.. im sure at one point it was an honorable to meet fighters and duel with these techniques, but (and mind you i have no love for MMA), MMA fighting style seems to dominate on EVERY video vs. Kung Fu/Karate i have seen. Which has always made me ask, why has no one fought like this (MMA = balls out and swinging) or came up with the same "style" (im sorry but MMA doesnt take style, just low IQ and bad tattoos) 2000-4000 years ago. I have looked through the internet but have yet to find an answer from some one who actually holds a "rank(?)" in a martial arts. :)
@Cailean_MacCoinnich3 жыл бұрын
So.... What is your question?
@augustely18443 жыл бұрын
I think it is not the same if you fight bare hands than fighting
@jashardwallington3 жыл бұрын
These are forms they have real applications the move being performed but they are mostly for excerise
@mattbugg45682 жыл бұрын
Well your not understanding the style being presented it is working while you are watching it. It's kung fu not fighting. If you kinda squint your vision and look at a picture of a tigers head the form is the tigers head in frount of the body. This guy is very good as there is multiple moving pictures of a tigers head being done in his hand work. Just saying in kung-fu fighting applications are learned by first rank the rest of it is art not really about fighting.
@chrispalasz2 жыл бұрын
Kung Fu was designed to "play for keeps", not as a sport in a ring. But over time, although the moves have application, many applications (gouging eyes, grabbing a crotch, punching a throat) meant to kill or end it in a few quick moves - they are made illegal in sports. Take away a technique's purpose and then tell the fighter to win with that technique is nonsensical. But that's what we do. My 2 cents: dont judge. There's missing perspective is all.
