The more I look at it, the more I like it? It's a Sim house that looks like real people could live in it. It looks like a house a family has lived in for years, and they've kept stuff from each time they've redecorated. Not everything matches, but they're making it work just like real life. I think with a more sensible flooring, this could look quite realistic.

We actually learned about this in my art class during high school. The reason why the rooms looked decent, especially the colorful ones, is because the tones matched. Before we were allowed to paint with colors, our art teacher made us paint in black and white at the end of sophomore year. Then junior and senior year we were allowed to use bright colors bc we learned how to use the color tones to our advantage. This video is a prime example of how color tones work!

This home actually looks lived in and homey. Looks like a well loved and cozy family home and in real life we cant buy the perfect couch or cant chose something with the perfect color all the time so it looks even more realistic!! Nice built!:)

After learning about makeup on black and white film, It's no surprise to me that yellow was what you got every time you wanted white. They used yellow/gold for highlights on b/w film. 😂

In my opinion the fact that it's very color and a little bit tacky makes it seem like a more realistic and lived in home so I'm kind of digging it. Like most family homes aren't picture perfect and the home looks like It would be a bit older and the family's owned it for a while. I love it hahaha

What's interesting is that when you do digital painting, there is this technique where you do the whole drawing in grey scale and then put color over the grey, following the shapes that you build in grey. This technique is great if you know how to do it correctly, paintings done like this really pop and have a very organic feel to their color. The reason why it works is because when you work with greys you are paying more attention to contrasts than to the actual colors, so once you put the colors over the grey scale the colors have the appropiate contrast to one another. So that might explain why your build worked even though you didn't knew what colors where you choosing.

Actually, this house seems a lot more "realistic" to me than most builds. Like, not all the furniture necessarily matches together but because of how they're placed/used, that's okay. How many people in the real world have perfectly matching items in their homes? In my experience, not many.

A fewideas for u--- 1. Do a lets play series (maybe 10-15 episodes) trying to raise a couple kids in a tiny house. (Like the 5x5 or 4x4) try to get then to full adulthood without being bad people and such. 2. Do a symmetrical build. Everything must be equal to its other side. Perfectly symmetrical. 3. Maybe a wonky build? (Change ur screen to be sideways, wavy, UPSIDE DOWN!!! or something and try to build with that.)

My brother is fully color blind and only sees different shades of greys. As far as he is concern yellow looks white to him and he can't tell the difference between fuchsia and red. He found out that he was color blind when he joined the military when he was young and was told he could never be a pilot because of it. My brother mostly dresses in black and blues and once in a while a red shirt. But I usually have to help him out when he goes shopping. He will ask me if something is black or brown. He dreams of the day when they can invent something he could use to see colors. I know there are special glasses for it now a days but you have to be able to see some colors for it to work. It doesn't work on people who are full blown color blind like my brother.

My brother is also colour blind, he still sees colour but they merge and he can't really tell the difference and things of similar hues look the same, in school he used to have a partner in art and creative tasks to help him choose correct colours, or to let him know what colour he was using. He has managed to learn what the colours actually are and most of the time can get it right, but he sees the sky as purple and things that are green, red or pinks as brown. It makes me realise how much we rely on colour for description of things when I am trying to get him to get something etc!

Tag others to do this! This was a very satisfying challenge to watch. Man, the anticipation for the color reveal all throughout the video, i just knew is was going to be terrible. Then for the most part it wasn't. I'm inspired surprisingly. A great way to come up with color combinations that you maybe wouldn't have thought of yourself. That yellow master bedroom furniture with the painting above the bed really worked. I'm using that. That mountain painting above the the pink bed has the slightest bit of pink in it, something i would have never consider to pair together, and it really works. I'd love to see others do this too.

At first i thought the house would look super bland with you trying to make everything white (as per usual), but i'm happy you failed and there was a lot of colour in the build! :) Of course it doesn't all match, but i really like the interior this way, i'm always a little upset you don't use a lot of colours in your builds. I know it's your taste and there's nothing wrong with that, but i always imagine how good (from my perspective) it would look with more colours! :D It's definitely a fun challenge (thanks again Kelsey!)

If you throw out that pink mirror, and change the wood floor in areas other than the living room, it's not bad. Even the random blue desk chair in the living room matches the pillows on the couches and the strange blue floor. The outside looks great.

The blue flooring actually reminds me of old houses from the times in the 20th century where architecture decided that ugly was pretty and everything looked funky and terrible, so the feeling of refurnish and renovation is even stronger. I really like this build actually, even with the weird colors. Feels like the set of a sitcom.

I don't understand why you hated the floor. It pretty much mixed nicely with pink walls and windows in the same colour. I would mostly throw away the yellow wardrobe in living room, pink mirror for main bedroom and two bedrooms for children (green one and toddler one).

And here's me thinking THIS video was a personal challenge of using only black and white items in a house! I like the actual challenge a lot better, though. Seeing you scrambling to come up with something that looks decent (admittedly by trying to find as many white items as possible) was fun, and the reveal was great! ooohh I actually love this, the colors all actually work together really well to make this warm, more lived-in kinda home. Nothing matches but neither are the colors too far off from each other to make it look weird, which gives the home character and a feel that a family really does live there. 1. The moment you clapped your hands, an ad for Fifty Shades Freed came on. I think it was a fitting choice for the challenge and the timing was perfect. 2. Even with its oddball color schemes, I really like how this house turned out! You may have done it all black and white, but I think it turned out really nicely. Maybe that's just me being biased because that lilac room is literally my aesthetic, but it's still great! I'm so glad that you did Kelsey's challenge. You should do a video "fixing" this build! i.e. changing the colors so they match the best you can do. Don't change any of the items (no deleting/replacing), just their colors!
