They mess so much up by extending things to make it more "dramatic". In the manga Teach stopped the first Quake and was IMMEDIATELY cut down by the Naginata. Whitebeard didn't even need a second to adjust. "I don't care if you stop my devil fruit I carry a giant Naginata for a reason."
