I noticed that you tried to turn the phone on while the red led was on. It is not possible. It will turn on by itself after rebooting, which takes about seven minutes. Rest assured, this only happens if the battery is completely drained and being charged. If not, the phone turns on immediately, fully ready.

Great phones, I still own two and carry one everyday with a different SIM as a back up phone. They turn on in a few seconds and can be used in direct sunlight, but as of 2024 all they do is calls and texting. Must have bought mine in 2014. Their only issue is that they drain the battery very quickly when turned off, but most Blackberries do that because in fact they never really turn off completely. This is from a time when a phone was sold with every acessory you can imagine except a condom! 😀 Great times indeed.
