When Blackberry Smoke covers a song, they always, ALWAYS do it justice. They are just objectively fantastic and talented musicians with great sense to honor the original song by capturing most of the nuances and all of the vibes of the songs they cover.

Oh how I agree with everyone here. I'm now 74 years old and have been playing guitar since I was 12 years old, so you older musicians, especially, know where I'm coming from. We have seen the inception and rise of Rock and Roll, and the rise and fall, and rise again of Blues. When I was a very young boy, like 3 years old, my sister who was approaching her early teens, used to bring home the old 45 RPM's and play them on her old record player. But far from treating me like the annoying little brother, she had me sit down with her and listen to all the records she brought. Bill Haley and the Comets, Fats Domino, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Elvis and all the others. She was largely the catalyst for me developing my love of music and my taste for music. I may have never taken up guitar were it not for her. So, especially you older folks can understand my journey through music. We are so fortunate to have been there and to truly know what good music is all about, right?! Thank you for sharing this great video with all of us. I have never seen it or heard it! I loved this song, and still do, since the first time I heard it! To be honest, Blues can be hard to listen to after several bars of a song. That is unless it is very very good, original and has the right licks and lyrics. And this is a great one! Of course, there are many other great Bluesmen, B.B. King, Bobby Blues Bland, and in my opinion, the greatest Stevie Ray Vaughan. Others might disagree, but we all have our opinions, right. Thanks again for sharing this great video. God Bless you all. Live, Love and give Love.

My story, too. Drumming since 14. First gig at a Moose Club, west central GA, at 15. Listening from age 8 or 9 to the juke box at the local swimming pool - Bill Haley, Carl Perkins, Elvis; my older brother's 45's - Dale Shannon, Marty Robbins; just the right age for the Beach Boys and the Beatles. Been a huge Dusty Hill/ZZ top fan since the 70s when as Jr. High students we would sneak into the old Houston Coliseum in downtown Houston during Thanksgiving to see ZZ Top. Great version of Jesus Just Left Chicago and I really liked how BBS kept the tempo slow and jammed with a mellow groove! This version makes you appreciate just how great and nasty Billy Gibbons' guitar solos are in the original version.

It is a shame they tore the coliseum down. I saw Dio at the Coliseum before the wonderful mayor stated her crap about a eye sore. Lack of policeing by there policies let all the homeless and all the problems with going to see a show cause that crap. I guess that is what they wanted so they could start those downtown rejuvenation projects. They should put up a historical marker where it use to stand. I had friends who attended Sam Houston high school where Billy and Dusty attended it too has been torn down. The only bad part is I was a bit young to see ZZ in the 70's by the time I came along they were Rocking the Astro dome. I would like to see them take sharp dressed man tie together deep blues and mix with southern rock. BBS can pull it off if anyone can. Dusty will always be Rocking our hearts 💙.

Little blues bar in Houston, I was holding down the bass. I usually play guitar. This dude shows up and offers to take over the bass. 'Well, yes, Mr Dusty Hill, If I can play guitar with you'. I sat in until like 0400 h. Maybe 10 years later I ran across Billy Gibbons in an art gallery. 'You that cat from that place on Westheimer. Dusty says you good.' I must have made an impression, but I gotta tell you I floated back home.

Terrific rendition of one of ZZ’s best tunes. When I arrived late to Stevie Ray Vaughan’s funeral at Laurel Land in Dallas in August 1990 I walked into a tiny chapel filled with rock legends. The right half of the little sanctuary was packed. The left was completely empty except for ZZ Top sitting on the back row. As I walked in I felt a strange mix of shock, awe, sadness and pride as I quickly determined I’d sit in front of the guys in ZZ Top up several rows surrounded by empty pews. As I looked back I noticed Dusty fanning himself with a sheer handkerchief in a strangely limp wristed way that struck me. I was around him a few times over the years and it seems he was always smiling. What a huge talent he was.
