Brit had a presence about him, aora if you wanna call it that, he was so much more than just a drummer to the fans and especialy the band!! no matter who they choose to be behind the skins, there will be a void. Little nuances that the fans may not notice but the band will. It really won't be fair to the drummer comming in because of Brits presence in the band. RIP BRIT , prayers still to his family and the band. I'm 55 and hated 80's music growing up. I've heard comments from some folks sayin' rock and roll is dead or everything that could be done has been done. THIS BAND PROVES that just ain't true!!! They ain't fake, you can hear thier many influences but they don't try to be thier influences. They are Blackberry Smoke! They play for all the right reasons. The music and lyrics are soooo damn good! The covers they do are sooooo damn good! The fact that they all love eachother after all these years , never breaking up heading on 25 years soon says so much! Being on an independent label helps but, I still think they would still be together anyway. I just wish they was around in the '80's!!

Thing is about Blackberry Smoke, they just keep getting better and better, and tighter. They're fast becoming the best band in America. Those Capricorn studio session songs are stunning. They can play anything, they do great covers, and Charlie writes killer songs. All the parts are beneficial to the others. Every musician fits perfectly.

Watched them open up for Tedeschi Trucks last year. Then watched half the crowd leave halfway through TTB. Not a knock on TTB. It's just that the crowd was there to see BBS. Then decided to beat traffic. Been my favorite band for 7-8 years now. Saw them before that, but really realized the potential around 2013 or so.

First whoever says there's no rock & roll being made today needs to check in with Blackberry Smoke. These guys really rock. Great songs and that perfect twin guitar with organ backbone, and they can SING as in cut through the guitars and harmonize well. I've been watching Rockpalast for years thinking what a great show. So glad to have more and more showing up on KZbin. Ten years ago I had to do some deep dives to find out about so much good stuff like this and then I'd have to download it often burning it to DVD cause most of the shows weren't on sale anywhere. Rockpalast might just be the best rock & roll TV show ever although I do like Austin City Limits quite a bit (not as much today it seems sad to say, but perhaps that's my fault since I do still run across some gems). This is a quality video and the sound is perfect. Thanks for this fantastic upload of a great band in a nice setting. Yep, I'm really digging this!

@@randyhibbs2491 Sure. If you like old school traditional surf rock, The Surfrajettes are a lot of fun. There are quite a few surf rock bands I’ve stumbled across, but I think they’ve got the cleanest production, which really suits that beautifully reverb-drenched guitar, if you’re in the mood for something easy to listen to. And if you want something harder but related to that, Jess and the Ancient Ones are my favorite psychedelic/acid rock band, although Purson and Rosalie Cunningham’s post-Purson project are also great, and I liked Wucan’s new album, too. And if you want some ‘80s AOR bombast, you might like The Night Flight Orchestra-they put out a great new single just two weeks ago :)
