Lamont, there were no seat belts in 1953, when I was a kid sitting in the front seat it was your mother throwing her arm out to stop any forward momentum ! 😵‍💫

Tuberculosis wiped out most of my grandmother’s family in the 1930s and 1940s. She was orphaned at 12 and isn’t sure how she never got sick, when almost everyone else did and died. She unfortunately witnessed how sick her parents got; it was brutal.

Hi Lamont! In the winter of 1952 I was probably about 18-19 months old riding standing in the back seat and some how the door I was standing next to came open and I fell out on a gravel road going up a hill to my grandparents. Thank the good Lord the I only got road rash. My parents said that seat belts weren’t even thought of by them let alone in the car.

SRV was an absolute beast on the guitar. He was a bluesman. It is an acquired taste. He was a big fan of Jimmy Hendrix also. He played some of Hendrix songs. Let's just say Hendrix would of been proud of SRV. SRV had very thick strings. This gave him a unique sound that only he could produce. I love SRV as much as Hendrix. His brother played the drums 🥁 in his band. The bass player was I believe a friend of theirs. We definitely lost a great one when his helicopter 🚁 crash. Good video Lamont. Take care.

To know about the people as you walk through and look at the markers it's nice to know who they were in life, not just the celebrities and famous graves. Thank you for sharing these stories. I’ve always feel a sense of sadness when visiting the graves of friends and family. I end up walking around and visiting others whom I don’t know, but I’m always filled with this sense of loss. Most often they are not famous, but they lived among us and they do have their own stories. Watching your vlog, actually gave me a small feeling of closure as you explained their passings. There is a beautiful small cemetery in Santa Paula, California where there is a high number of teen deaths from the 50’s and 60’s. It pains me as I imagine what brought on their passings. As I get older, my visits to various cemeteries has increase since family and friends have now crossed. I’m finding I’m feeling much more fortunate in my appreciation of life. I imagine your vlogs have taken on a new meaning for a lot of us. Blessings, and be safe. I’m Alex from Los Angeles.

Straight on Lamont. TB is still a very serious ailment. Although, much more treatable today. Way back, it was a death sentence. It took the life of my grandmother on Mom's side back in 1947. Of course, I never got to meet Grandma Tulia. Mom was only 12 when her Mom passed. Mom now rests for past nine years, a few spaces away from her Mom and Dad and twin sister, Peggy Lou. Peggy passed in 1937 when her and Mom were only two. Rheumatic fever I think it was. Another treatable ailment anymore, I think.

Stevie played his last show at Rockfest in Caddott WI. I was there. He looked like he was in a trance when he was playing. He was an amazing guitar player

Hi Lamont, I love when you do these kind of videos. I even think that's why I subscribed to your channel it has been awhile back. I wanted to say thanks for showing SRV resting place. Got to see him twice in concert with a man I was dating back then. SRV was awesome & when we heard of his passing it was devastating, he was just soaring in his career. Just a terrible tragedy gone to soon. RIP to all those that you spoke of in this video. Looks like a beautiful cemetery & some of the headstones were very nice, great job.

We moved to the US in 1963 to Dallas. Our next door neighbors boys died in one of the TB outbreaks in the mid 50s, they were 1 and 3 years old. They were very sad and because I was the youngest, mom was busy, my neighbor taught me how to tie my shoes and much more.

Lamont!! You were in my stomping grounds!! I was born and raised in OC and have lots of family and friends buried there but back in the 40-50's everyone wanted to move to Dallas and OC was a nice part of town but like everything else things change but wish I'd known you were close I would've cooked ya dinner and discussed graves and all my paranormal investigations throughout Texas. I live close to Ft. Worth now but great to see you covering LL!! ❤
