In this 3rd part I'll do the departure briefing, pushback, engine start, taxi out to RWY 28 and the takeoff. The checklist I am using is my own little creation and I know it is not the airbus or FSLabs checklist.
Please leave a thumbs up if you liked the video. Cheers!

Hi BB I have a hanch 😣 If we have to open the starter valve manually And the ground staff fail to close the valve at 50% N2 What's the impact of this procedure on the valve & starter ? How the starter disengage from the gearbox? ?
@Blackbox711
@Blackbox711 Жыл бұрын
Hi. In that case you would switch off the APU bleed air or engine bleed air of supplying engine in case of crossbleed start. This would stop the starter from getting required bleed air to operate. Then you would set the engine master switch back to off.

one question : why do we need to turn off air conditioning packs before takeoff and turn them on after takeoff? Thank you
@Blackbox711
@Blackbox711 5 жыл бұрын
Apparently that saves money by reducing engine bleed air demand during the takeoff phase. So lower fuel flow since the engine compressor becomes more efficient without the bleed air extraction for the pack system.

Hi. Thank you. The Airbus is an aircraft that takes a lot of programming. But once that is done, it does a lot of things automatically. But yes, it does need a lot of practice.
@alexmollen9339
@alexmollen9339 4 жыл бұрын
Actually a B737 is LESS automated than an A320... and still takes an equivalent amount of FMC programming. It's just that FS-Labs, as supposed to some earlier products, doesn't "simplify" the airplane.

If you fly on VATSim, they want you to be "squawking Mode-C" as soon as you start taxiing, which you can accomplish by switching on TA/RA upon pushback. Otherwise when you line up.

If you have a joystick that twists, you can use that too. It's actually a little more realistic, in the real Airbus you don't steer with the rudder pedals but with a tiller (you can see it in the sim, by the left knee of the captain)

Hi. Thank you. You need to adjust the sensitivity levels for the different notches of the thrust levers in the MCDU. Then make sure that you set the thrustlevers in the correct notch for each flight phase. If LVR CLB flashes in the FMA you need to set the Thrustlevers into the CLB notch. Regards

what are the circumstances where you would turn the packs off for takeoff vs leaving them on?
@Blackbox711
@Blackbox711 8 жыл бұрын
Hi Lazy. The thermal stress on the engine is a little less if you switch off the packs. This increases engine life and uses less fuel. Now if it is very warm outside and you don't want your passengers to sweat too much, you would leave the packs on. Regards

@Blackbox711
@Blackbox711 8 жыл бұрын
Hi Andy. Airline pilots usually have charts or a computer program for this. For this simulator you need to look for a software to calculate this accurately. I use a flex between 40 and 50°, depending on the grossweigt and the required climb gradient. Regards
