This needs to be released on DVD pronto, with the fair share of proceeds going to David Lindley’s family. No way should there need to be a T-shirt fundraiser to help pay for his medical bills when this is sitting on a shelf somewhere. The guy was a legend. RIP, Mr. Dave.

R.I.P., David Lindley, 3/3/23. I've been listening to his music for well over 40 years, both his collaborations with Jackson and others, and his band ElRayo-X, and the various solo acoustic and duet shows and recordings since then, with Ry Cooder or various percussionists. I've been crying intermittently for days since I heard of his passing. I even got to meet and talk to him at a gig, and the teenage boys that were with me were given drumsticks, snare brushes, guitar picks and autographed T-shirts by Wally and David. My condolences go out to his family, friends, musical collaborators, and yes, to his fans.

Man O Man. Cann’t believe that this is the first time that the whole concert has been made available to me. An unbelievable cast of musicians, songwriters and singers on that stage producing a fantastic concert, in many ways exceeding their own recordings, as often happens in live performances. The spontaneity that happens on stage far exceeds a controlled and edited studio recording.

Not to mention the inspiration of the feedback loop with the audience at a live show. The best musicians play their best, live, in front of fans. Hack musicians can only sound good (?) employing studio tricks and frequently not even then.

What a line-up, what a show !!! Jackson w/ hi soulful sustaining voice, complimented by Bruce, w/ a more complex vocal style & piano wizardry. I always liked Shawn Colvin. & now you can see why, shes a perfect harmony voice for Bonnie Raitt. but a great songwriter in her own right, & then there's Bonnie. as brilliant as ever; showing off her inheritence from her Broadway star father, & being a team player in spite of a level of virtuosity that would make others stuck up........ Who conceived this amazing match up of talents ??? !!!!!

I did make up on this show and watched from high up in a tower over the stage right. It was definitely one of my most favorite jobs. They were all at the top of their games that night. It was taped for some use, but I never found out what. Can't take credit for how fantastic Bonnie is here as she very expertly did her own makeup. They were all so open and so very nice. About a year after the seeing show in Northern California, I saw some of the footage that had been shot; it was high quality video and audio. At the time I was told by my friend that it was never going to come out, because the producer of the video was unable to get the necessary releases from the artists and/or their management. I love seeing the whole concert. I own every CD represented in this concert, and I know all the lyrics, so watching it makes me feel young. Because I am not hard of hearing, or needing closed captioning when watching this concert. I adore Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Hornsby, Shawn Colvin, but Jackson Browne hits women, so I only adored him until the news about Darryl Hannah came out. But his early albums were excellent, he's an extraordinary songwriter, and I saw him live like 150 times, when I attended Boston University in the 70's. And I just found out, at age 65, I've been buying every album of Bonnie Raitt's and seeing her live for 48 years. Anyway, I just found out that former Range member George Marinelli is in her band. Bless his heart. That phrase doesn't age me. The visual problems in this tape don't bother me, because I'm old enough that I watched a VCR for 20 years, and I still have the last VCR we had. We use it sometimes to watch videotapes of our kids, taken when they were little. But anyway, I have seen portions, but I loved watching the whole concert. George Marinelli: God bless you, but don't chew gum when performing, lol.

Gosh, I love Red Rocks. The last time I was there was to see Bruce Springsteen. I was 8 1/2 months pregnant with my son in '81. Lol. You couldn't miss me in the crowd. Bruce sang me a song. Saw Bonnie there the year before. Both great concerts. I lived in Denver For 3 years, but I am from Memphis. I have probably seen her more than anyone else. A blues woman, thru and thru. Love Bonnie. The only one missing is John Prine. Wish I had been at this one.

The first time I saw Jackson, Bonnie was his opening act at the Municipal Auditorium in Austin Texas to half filled house in 1973. They put on a stellar show then. I saw this show at Red Rocks it was amazing.

I was at the show at Lakeland Civic Center in 1976 , and when they did the song Stay it seemed to play on for 10 mins. until the roadies had to come on stage , and put around Jackson and carry him off .

Bruce Hornsby live, exceeds his display on albums ! He's the SRV of keys ! BB King once said of SRV, that he (BB) would run out of stuff to play on a solo, but Stevie could just keep going & going. BH seems to play the same way!

I met you in about 1975 in Buffalo when you played at an auditorium with Jackson Browne. I was supposed to get an interview for my college paper backstage, but I was so awkward and awestruck! You came over to me and talked to me as if I wasn't some young enamored person. I doubt you'd remember, but I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Lots of love to you!

Lovely version of Dimming of the Day. I'm glad they retuned until everybody was in key, "because Richard Thompson deserves it!" Bonnie does the best cover of this song that I've heard, though I still prefer the original with Linda Thompson on vocals. If you've not heard it, seek it out! Theres also a KZbin video of Bonnie and Richard performing it together , with Richard on guitar.
