Hey Guys! I may have a bad memory and left out a couple of things. On top of that, there are some things that aren’t correct. Here is a list of them: Chapter 1: - I forgot Varus and Zyra are Champions released that got released in Season 2. - Also, Syndra has been updated recently to make her more powerful late game and give her two charges for her Q. 😗 - Zed Ult did get quality of life buff and a season or two later removed 💀 - SEJUANI ULT WAS AN AOE STUN - Volibear didn't have the bump on his e until later - Zyra old passive was different - Old Rengar E was point and click 😭 Chapter 2: -Blue essence used to be called influence points. -You cannot move during the Aatrox revive (post rework and remove it later on) - You got some Influence points for getting cases right on the tribunal. Chapter 3: Katarina had 2 older versions of herself. Her W use to be a ability buff. Let me know if I missed anything else. I will update it here

Dominion and Ascension you also got Special Icons for Milestones In Ascension you had to get a Perfect Score and the Enemy should not ascend once ( if i remember correctly ) And in Dominion you had to have 100 wins BEFORE the announcement of the Shutdown. So it was mega exclusive because people couldn't grind for it anymore, which was hilarious because people tried to grind 100 wins in 10 Days only to realize at the end they could never receive it lmao. I miss Dominion, i had over 700 wins in it

Damn, I remember Doom Bots. When we got Sion rework, and if we had a Sion bot, it became a time mission because if you don't finish the game in time, Sion would ult and his ult would knock up allies and instakill buildings like towers, inibitors and, guess what, the Nexus. If you had the tower open and it passed to something like 25 mins, Sion would ult from his base, knock up all your allies, essentially making him unstoppable, and hit the nexus and end the game right there. (tbh the knock up part I'm foggy about, but he did instakill nexus for sure) Goated.

Aside from the "First pick on each time bans" system of old, I honestly thought it was pretty cool having a system that encouraged every player on the team to have at least a basic understanding of all 5 roles.

As someone who started before Season 1 was announced (I started in late May 2010), I legitimately get misty-eyed seeing some of this. I've never really been good at the game despite having it as my game-between-games for 14 years, but it really just is a completely different game now. Not saying it's not better or worse because old League had some serious degenerate gameplay, the new champions every 2 weeks making sure you couldn't catch up because you also had to buy runes, upgrade runes and likely buy rune pages to be able to play more than a handful of champions. Both old and new League has issues, but one has rose-tinted goggles and the other doesn't. But the old champion select theme, or the old "League Theme" is enough to crack me into a nostalgic smile. Edit: I just got further into the video and I am realizing that I'm saying a lot of stuff that's said in the video as well. But hey, old League didn't have that much stuff to talk about in comparison, so there's gonna be overlap, haha.

I don't know if you win more blue essences in a capsule when you level up now, if you take the same number of games you play (let's say it's 10 games to level up and get a capsule, compare how much BE you'd get compared to how much IP by playing 10 games (bonus win included)

The old Katarina you talked about is actually a reworked Katarina. Her W used to be a buff, and her scalings were insane, Shunpo did like over 1k damage, it was even easier to get kills off of resets with Shunpo alone.

Def think you misses a couple of changes in these champions, but what a fun time having these old memories back ! Man I miss this sense of community in league, with the custom servers! The aram where everyone follows the rules, the hide and seek... The draft queue, and shoutouts of who says what role first. Just feels like people back then had more respect for eachother, it was a more fun vibe honestly The tribunal, its like the people rly made the game back than not some faceless corporation. And Yep Season 4 is peak. Like I remember.

Fun thing, the Katarina you mentioned in the video isn't even the "original" Katarina. Her W used to be just a buff to either your next Q or E. If used on Q, it would deal 100% dmg to all targets and apply grievous wounds (Otherwise it would deal less dmg per bounce), and if used on E, she would gain a bit of damage reduction

For the runes, you must also remember that it was way more difficult to save up blue essense for purchasing champions. Basically, save for a month for one of the expensive champions or a couple of months for a good set of runes + new rune page when that was possible.

Zz'Rot Portal used to be one of the most useless items and you got flamed for building it back then until it got sort of a buff or a quality change that shot it up to broken status. I think the change was the spawning void creatures actually didn't die until killed (by a champ or turret shot) which meant a perma pushed lane unless the portal was destroyed. The base version of this item on release if I remember correctly spawned void creatures and would kill minions but if there aren't any minions around after walking some distance away from the portal the void creatures would die kinda like how Malzahar's voidlings are. Which only created mostly a freeze instead of a push.

That's not old OLD Katarina. That's already the reworked one. Old OLD Katarina's W was a Q & E enhancer. Would either give Q grievous wounds or E a massive damage reduction after you Shunpo'd. Loved her play style back then when you could E to wards. She was nigh impossible to catch or kill if you knew what you were doing, especially with the later introduction of Leviathan. Also, AP Master Yi was for a long time considered a meme, even though I was already playing that in Beta, only for the pro's to realize how insanely OP it was years later and then all of a sudden everyone was playing him AP, resulting in Riot's rework of him of course. The first time URF was announced, I immediately knew Galio was going to be the most broken champion in that mode. Everyone said it was Kassadin, but Kassadin didn't have shit on Galio. And yet I've never seen anyone else play Galio in URF. He was a 1v5 machine, virtually immortal with perma W active. Also, the number of stupid crap you could do in the old LoL is dearly missed. Eve with mobility boots & 5 sunfire capes just stalking people was hilarious. Poppy moving Baron to fountain. Blocking all the minions in base with Heimer's turrets and then releasing them all at once after 10 minutes, or you could leave the turrets and the game would glitch out and just started spamming super minions left and right. ARAM before it was an official game mode was also fun, we would do it in custom lobbies on rift, and there was a bug at the time that allowed 12 players in a lobby for glorious 6v6 ARAM battles. Old League allowed for way more creativity and build variety due to no limits on items, the old rune pages. I was also fortunate enough to meet and play against the Riot devs IRL back in the old days before League became big. I could really go on and on about it. Good memories...

Beta Veteran here. You guys missed the best part of the game in the very beginning of it: playing whatever the f you want wherever the f you want. Started playing duo with a friend toplane as Ryze+Yi and no one gave a sh**. Building Yi to 2.5 atk speed with items because i didn't know yi would get atk speed with ult. But still win the game. Use Shen Ult to just tp back into the lane to my duo partner. Building old ryze with 6 deathfire grasps (old one not reworked) that stacked the effects, having ryze doing AOE with every spell when ult activated and just go 1v5 and win every fight like that. And of course having a 3v3 map. We had no clue how to play the game, but it was the funniest and best period of the game by far. No toxic waste in the chat. No one trying to tell you how to play, where to play, what to build. It was perfect.

I started playing LoL less after they removed the old runes. I don’t care if people say it was a pay-to-win system. I never bought a rune page with RP, (iirc you can't buy runes with RP) only with IP (Influence Points). Unlike BE, you could earn IP after every game. Since I had played a lot of MMORPGs before LoL, I really liked the old runes and masteries because of how customizable they were. And, of course, I didn’t mind the grind. If something in a game was achievable without spending money-just by putting in more time-I never considered it pay-to-win. --- League of Legends has been getting more and more boring lately. They call it 'balancing,' but all they seem to do is constantly 'nerf' items and champions' abilities. Just look at the items-they’ve removed almost all mobility options except for that Hextech AP item. Compare this to DOTA, which has items like Force Staff and Blink Dagger etc. DOTA has plenty of broken items and hero abilities, yet they still manage to keep the game balanced and exciting.
