Amp and partscaster sound phenomenal Thor! It's always a treat to see a new video uploaded from Guitars and Gizmos, it's such interesting content and great playing!

I am very happy with this partscaster. It has even pushed my Fraser S-style out in the cold. The cabinet turned out good as well, so I'm a happy camper. Thank you for your kind words. Cheers.

@@GUITARSGIZMOS It sounds way better than my partscaster but I put mine together exclusively with parts from Amazon.🤣

Nice and tidy! Personally I prefer the versatility of heads and cabs. Of course I have a mix of both, but have been thinking of building headshells for all my combo chassis. For gigs, a small combo is certainly handy, but 99% of my playing is in the studio.

I think the tone was about perfect after the swap, and....any experience with a 12" inch speaker in the Princeton? There's quite a debate on the web, I'd like to hear your view on this (BTW, great playing and I like the tone of those pick-ups a lot)

Hi Marcello, I have tried a few 12" speakers with the Princeton amp, but it has so much low end that the bass knob is turned all the way off even with the 10". That said I think something like the Celestion Blue 12", like I have in my Tweed 5E3 could possibly work. Thanks for your kind words on my playing 😀 This partscaster with these Radioshop pickups (Chris Buck) has become a clear favourite. I'm selling the Fraser...

Would love to know what else are you running aside from guitar and amp? Could you tell me your signal chain? Do you use any effects compression equalization? I ask because I have a 64 Princeton original and a 66 Princeton original as well as a 74 and none of them sound like that

Hi, I'm using a Mad Professor Sweet Honey Overdrive Deluxe, a Strymon El Capistan (v1), Mad Professor Deep Blue Delay, and Neunaber Wet Reverb pedal. The Deep Blue delay is set as a slapback delay. I'm using a very low gain setting on my overdrive to push the amp slightly into breakup so I don't have to crank the volume on the amp.

@@GUITARSGIZMOS thank you thank you so much for that reply… I was absolutely amazed by the sound and after owning several vintage amps and I just play them clean. I’m like man there’s no way no way I must have some duds. Lol

Also, tubes are much happier not vibrating inside a combo....
