On the Blackfeet Reservation in Browning, Montana, Lauren Monroe Jr. discusses the importance of preserving Blackfeet identity in a modern world and how he tries do so in his painting.
Eddie Roqueta, a Cuban American, holds and MFA in Science and Natural History Filmmaking from Montana State University and a BS in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation from the University of Florida. He is intensely egalitarian and biocentric, believing that the proper study of humankind is survival for all. Roqueta is a National Geographic grant recipient, festival coordinator for the International Wildlife Film Festival, and an emerging documentary filmmaker. His debut short-film SILENCING THE THUNDER has screened to great acclaim at numerous festivals including the 2014 Banff Mountain Film Festival, 2015 Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, and the 2015 Environmental Film Festival (just to name a few). SILENCING THE THUNDER is broadcasted locally on MontanaPBS and was featured on National Geographic’s website.
