Im a relative of the Blackfeet Nation and love the Indian Days my Mother and Father have brought me to since I was just a Kid. Beautiful County. Beautiful People. Beautiful Culture.

Jessica Walker those are amalgamated tribes now. Blackfeet were a part of the Lenni Lenape that move to the plains. They were not Mongolian or Eurasians.

"Blackfoot" is the English translation of the word siksika, which means "black foot." It refers to the dark colored moccasins the people wear. Some Blackfoot people are annoyed by the plural "Blackfeet," which is obviously an anglicization. But most Blackfoot people accept both terms. "Blackfoot" is more commonly used in Canada, and "Blackfeet" is more commonly used in the United States

Man this is awesome. I'm not 100% sure, but I'm either Blackfoot or Cherokee. I do know that I'm German, Norwegian, French, either Blackfoot or Cherokee (I'm not sure which), and possibly Italian. I am proud to say that I have so many different cultures running through my veins. I just wish I new more about my Native American background. From what I do know, is that my... great grandfather? I think it's my great grandfather. Anyways, he married a Blackfoot or Cherokee princess. Wish I new more.

both, the Blackfeet ARE Piegan/Pikunii/Pikuni. "Blackfoot" is a direct translation of Siksika, our Confederacy name. I don't know why they plualized it. You can't pluralize "Siksika" in the Blackfoot language. We are the Piegan/Blackfeet band, the Kainah/Blood band and the Siksika/Blackfoot Proper band, but we're all Siksikawa (Blackfoot People) and we call ourselves Niitsitapi (the Real People) traditionally

ok, so i've been wanting to connect to my ancestry for forever now and i've recently just started to lookup my na side. on my father's side, i'm blackfoot and crowe mix and my father is also a blood brother to a souix who was a truck driver and for some reason i feel more connected with the blackfoot. i'd love to be able to look up my fathers' side of the family but the state of indiana has his records sealed. does anyone know of a way to get his records unsealed?

Can someone tell me how to trace our roots? I’m told I have blackfoot blood. My grandpa who had the answers passed away when I was a little kid. I remember wearing one of his headdresses and it dragged in the floor a couple feet behind me. I can feel it in my soul but I would like a definite answer.

@SaiKoSeSu my brother you know your heritage you are American, I personally have so many different nationalities in me including 3 different Native American tribes (Commanche, Blackfeet and Cherokee) it would be silly of me to think of myself as anything but American nor would I want to. My Grandmother a full blood Blackfeet was a very proud American and would not use the term Native American, just American. A ship does not sail on yesterday's wind.

@songbird564 That reminds me of a Na' Pi story about Old Man stealing the suns hunting leggings. They were used to catch a bush on fire and make the animals run out, away from smok and fire, only to be shot down my the sun and old man.The ending is a pretty good lesson about, well, what some people call "karma".Look it up if you've never heard the story and enjoy ;)

Ask about all this to you grandfathers. They use an urinal and after they were emptying it in the street, sharing it with his neighbors. This way it began the pest and other miseries. The w.c. is slightly new, and the soap and the shower also. Certainly, I am white, but I have memory and brain too.And you ? have an urinal?
