@nascarfanatic24255 жыл бұрын
@@johnnyguerra5427 Truex is my 2nd favorite active driver. He really has proven that after all these years as a Cup Series regular, he's been held back by teams like Dale Earnhardt Inc. and Michael Waltrip Racing. Soon as he got to Furniture Row Racing, he started showing what he was capable of. They needed a year of development together, but from 2015 onward, Truex has been phenomenal. 2015- Breaks winless drought at Pocono and works his way into the Championship 4 at Homestead. 2016- Has a breakout year scoring a career high of 4 wins that season. 2017- Wins the championship in dominant fashion. 2018- Finishes runner-up in the Playoffs. 2019- Wins the most races and finishes runner-up in the Playoffs. I kept thinking from 2008-2014 that Martin Truex was just another one of those guys who performed well as an Xfinity Series driver, but couldn't do squat as a Cup Series driver, but he proved me wrong, and I couldn't be happier for him.

As a Truex fan (one of my favorite drivers), I've always rooted for Truex since the NAPA days in the 56! Furniture Row was also one of my favorite teams since the Regan Smith days in the 78. This was truly an amazing season for Truex and FRR! They've dealt with Triumph and Tragedy and a near-Tragedy (Barney Visser suffered a heart attack), No matter what happened in 2017, they never gave up! This was truly an underdog moment since Alan Kulwicki's 1992 season. If you ask me, the 78 and its black car is and will always be iconic (my opinion). Furniture Row Racing will always be remembered for how they started from the bottom, winning the 2011 Bojangles Southern 500 at Darlington, Kurt Busch in the 78, and the underdog duo of Martin Truex, Jr and Furniture Row Racing! I am not sure if there will be another team like FRR, but who knows! Damn, I miss Furniture Row Racing so much!

Furniture Row will always hold a special place in my heart. Being from Colorado, I was ecstatic to have a hometown NASCAR team! That 2017 season gave Denver more then just the Broncos (who getting their asses kicked by the Bengals the same day somehow justified front page of the sports paper, forcing Truex and FRR to the second page) Barney NEEDS to be inducted into both the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame and NASCAR Hall of Fame! Hell, Martin deserves the CSHoF just as much!

i honestly cannot think of any points system where Truex doesn't win this championship at least one race early, except for the one that was actually used. Truex in 2017 was probably the most deserved champion in the Chase/Playoff era, simply because he always seemed to have a full race cushion on the field, and he never once needed to fall back on it

What made this season from Truex all the more incredible was the amount of heartbreak and tragedy going on around Truex and the team. Truex's girlfriend was fighting cancer I'm pretty sure. There was that one fabricator who passed away. And then there was Barney Vissar, the team owner, who had a heart attack and couldn't even be at Homestead as a result. In spite of heartbreak and tragedy, Truex persevered.

Martin Truex Jr. has to be my favorite driver ever. He ordered me a shirt himself. And I have been grateful!. That weekend he dominated at Las Vegas. He's from my area, born in the same month as me, he is just a legend. All the tragedies he's overcome, all those wins. When he won this championship I cried tears of joy for the very first time. He was too. Martin will always be in my heart, and I wouldn't have liked NASCAR as much as I do without him. I will not be the same without him. Hemric was always solid in Xfinity and the Trucks even if he didn't win he came close plenty enough that with any luck he could have had double-digit wins between the 2 series and he only had one season in Cup and that was in ever declining RCR equipment, Newman wasn't much better in that ride anyway he LUCKED into almost winning a championship because of the Playoff system (if it was "won" in the 2003 system he would have been at best maybe 12th in the points) after that he was consistently a mid-pack driver and that may have been elevating the team honestly and Reddick probably isn't going to come close to winning anything in that car

Replacing the late Dale Earnhardt starting at Rockingham, Harvick managed to perform double duty the entire season, finishing an impressive ninth in the cup series and winning the Busch Series championship at the same time. Harvick scored 5 wins, 20 top fives, 24 top tens, and 4 poles throughout the 33 race season to win his first of two Busch Series titles.
