Wow, just amazing!! Thank you so much for sharing this David! I am of mostly Irish and Norwegian decent, but like many others who've commented, I had a great great grandmother of the Blackfoot Native people. I've been told that her marriage to a white man did receive the blessing of the Blackfoot chief at the time, but her relationship had originally generated some controversy within her family because of the terrible actions being made by the United States against the Blackfoot people. I've studied this part of my heritage and it's truly heartbreaking how all American Native peoples have been forced to endure a total loss of original lifestyle and peaceful ways of living that they had once enjoyed on this land at the hands of the greedy United States. The most beautiful aspect of the Blackfoot people that I've been especially touched by, is their incredible ability and willingness to forgive!!

I was making an appearance in Park City Utah.. I met a very interesting gentleman.. of, if my memory is correct.. it's been years ago.. I believe he was of Comanche decent.. He was so knowledgeable of his peoples history.. I asked him to please write a history from his people's viewpoint.. I'm European decent.. and related to a north eastern Canadian tribe. I was told their name years ago.. so my memory is vague.. We are very familiar with American History from one viewpoint.. It would be amazing to have a history from the original people.. Follow your dream.. Tell the stories... Thank you for your comment.. I was making an appearance at an art gallery.. I'm a sculptor..

I love it. My great great Grand mother she was a Black foot Indian. She choose to stay on the plantation she had freedom to go and come as she pleased but her three sons were never allowed to leave with her. The owner of the plantation was their father as well they were his slaves. They were taught to speak and dance as a black foot by their mother. I wish I could have met her. She loved to travel.
@ichabodacrane43315 жыл бұрын
Blackfoot Indians were NEVER slaves or lived on plantations. Blackfoot was just a term used by African americans back in the day day & now people like you are mixing it up with THIS particular tribe. You have no relations to this tribe.

(Wolfgang)

@@clayguy1 Sadly I don't know the tribe or clan of my Blackfoot ancestors nor of my Pottawatomie ancestors; however, I know the tribe and clan of my Chippewa ancestors since I am a part of it. Our tribe is Swan Creek (Saginaw Swan Creek and Black River bands of Chippewa Indians) and our clan is Turtle/Bear. We are currently NOT a Federally recognized tribe but we are trying to get re-recognized. We were once a Federally recognized tribe but something happened and we were stripped of it. An uncle of mine explained that it had to do with money and politics. Anyways, are you apart of a tribe?

@@clayguy1 On my Chippewa side, I am the great-grandaughter of Julia Fisher's grandson, Albert. Julia's father was Chief Wabaness and his father was Chief Kaw ge ke Ihick. American Indians don't typically use the terms "great-grandpa" or "great-grandma" but I don't really have any other way of explaining it. Grandpa and his siblings attended the Mount Pleasant Indian Industrial Boarding School back in the 1920s-1930s. Grandpa had crooked fingers from having his fingers broken by his teachers because he refused to write in English. His brother and sister suffered horrible abuse as well while in the place. Anyways, after getting out of the school, Grandpa left the rez and never looked back. He met great-grandma at a dance and they got married. Great-grandma was the daughter of Danish immigrants. Anyways, the two had my paternal grandmother and six other children. Grandpa never taught his family his language nor his traditions for very obvious reasons. I was told by my uncle that if Grandpa wanted to talk about things with his sister or brother in law that weren't meant to be known (example: inappropriate for children to hear) by the rest of the family he would speak his Native language but other than that... nothing. I only know Miigwetch, Boozhoo, and Aanii. As for my Blackfoot ancestor, she was grandmother of my maternal great-grandma. I was fortunate to see pictures of her and I was told that her name was Nancy. Sadly, her tribe and clan identity is lost to us. I was told by my maternal great-grandma that her grandmother, Nancy, died an old woman in the 1940s. I wish that I could have gotten those pictures of grandma Nancy; however, after my great-grandparents died, their youngest daughter did something with those pictures when they cleaned out the house in order to sell it. Sorry for going on a tangent!

No, we are NOT "Native Americans", We Are The First Nations, The Original Peoples. EXACTLY where we came from, you WILL find in Genesis 11:1-9. Just as, for example, France,China, Spain,Vietnam,etc., "From there the Lord scattered them over THE FACE OF THE WHOLE EARTH"😊. Every human being is created In The Image Of God, one "race" is NOT better than the other😊. wado,Ann Benson.

Equality is NOT in the bible. listed below are a couple of verses. It is what it is. Genesis 25:23 states: "And the Lord said unto her, “Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy body; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people, and the elder shall serve the younger.” 2 Esdras 6:56 states: “As for the other people, which also come of Adam, thou hast said that they are nothing, but be like unto spittle: and hast likened the abundance of them unto a drop that falleth from a vessel.”

lol ....They look ridiculous, false fools who are teaching their children lies lol only for them to get hurt in the future when they find out they have been living a lie, just as they did us when they murdered out our ancestors and our elders, that were here long before they got here, then they started labeling us as Africans after they murdered out most of our elders so they started teaching us a lie from generation after generation, they didn't plan on us to start waking up to the truth of who we really are, they brought only a few Africans from Africa because our ancestors were too strong for them to conquer, white Christopher Columbus and his white army need help with the invasion of our Turtle Island which is known today as America, also he got help from Spain, and France before all the stated became united "thus calling it today united states" they divided it between Spain, France, and so-called Europeans is known as white Ameria, more nations started to come over on ships even Asian looking people and Mongolians together white and them began to hijack our culture and heritage thus calling them Native Indians striking a deal to give them our reparation and including themselves whites in this deal, so now we have false impersonators who has hijacked our culture. Here is what the 1828 Websters Dictionary says about what color people the real aborigine Indians are after reading this go and get a copper color penny and put it on the back of your hand and see if you see black or copper color....AMER'ICAN, adjective Pertaining to America. AMER'ICAN, noun A native of America; originally applied to the aboriginals, or copper-colored races, found here by the Europeans; but now applied to the descendants of Europeans born in America. The name American must always exalt the pride of patriotism. - Washington

Sad that it's in this White Man's place, with flash out of nature, US Bank in the foreground, and materials made by machine. When the Blackfeet dance with EARTH beneath them and sky above, and nothing of rubber, plastic or machine on or near, then the dance will mean something.
