Sometimes the body parts even made their way into folk medicines (you can imagine which and for what), and were notably used in shamanic practices of the region; so much so that to this day, antique human-totems are still used by shamans - thought nearly all were obtained before the the 21st century (these totems were isually made with specific parts used for casting shamanic spells/cures/curses - some obvious parts are used in fertility spells). Fortunately (sort-of), these practices of trophy-making (and inter-tribal war) was outlawed upon the founding of African nations by the invading western colonizers (ignoring the many many obvious problems of colonization itself). Happily, after gaining their independence from their colonizers, the native African populations have very rarely seen reversion to the these practices (with notable exception being during times of violent conflict; during such times, literal head-hunting and other practices do unfortunately sometimes resurface on the continent, but this is very uncommon, even in war now). . It is also fortunate for humanity's sake that ghe creation of human trophies/displays of famous rebels, criminals, outlaws, and others during in the 17th and 18th centuries in North America, was very uncommon, but fat from unheard of. Many famous "Wild West" criminals had their bodies turned into display items for curious onlookers (usually temporarily though, to he fair). But the practice fell out of favor in th le 20th century nearly altogether. Sadly, the prewar era's and jimcrow era's southern white-population seeing Black people as less than human, morbid curiosos were not uncommonly made from those that led rebellions or comitted violent crimes against the anyone in the white population (often without trial).
