Well done. I stumbled into this technique for doing titles / lower 1/3s, live captions, timer overlays, logo bugs, and stuff like that. It's tricky to show every step, but you pulled it off. Great demo!

Great overview Guy. The chroma key demo was helpful. I'm still a little puzzled about the PIP buttons on the ATEM but I'll do some more digging and play with it.

Thank you - just seeing the first few seconds was helpful for me, I didn't know the default was "cut bus" and changing to "program preview" is available. Red/Green keys are soooo helpful. Thank you. if BlackMagic reads this, i'm curious why Cut is the Default, Preview seems so much more natural. Thx again, this video is extremely informative.

For a dedicated keyer, I am trying to decide between a the 1080p ATEM Mini or the 4K ATEM Production Studio. Does 4K do a much better job at fine hairs and edge detail?

Very nice video! Helped me a lot!! 1. Can the flying key be controlled by Atem Mini device or it can be controlled only through the software? 2. In relation to PIP feature, can we custom size or we need to stick to uniform size?

Hello, please tell me how good is the live streaming with Atem Mini Pro?

Great video… I know this will sound strange but I’m a legally blind videographer and got my degree in video production back in the late 80s and I’m currently working on a contract for a local Dave school doing a promo video and I am building a studio where I purchased a lot of black magic designs equipment including the ETEM mini pro ISO switcher. I’m currently running Mac OS X latest BIGSUR version and I’m trying to find where to download the control software that is free for this unit. I saw your tutorial and I liked it a lot but you didn’t give any links that I saw in your production notes on the KZbin channel page… I did visit their design page but hit list all kinds of software but nothing for the ATEM mini pro ISO switcher or other switcher is in fact. I have and use their search option in the webpage and it still didn’t return any results. If you have a direct link you could share that would be great. Thank you… Tim

Hi, Can i do picture in picture with Magewell USB Capture HDMI 4K
@Vidyograf4 жыл бұрын
Hi ! Do u know if it’s possible to assign the same background to for instance the cam 1 and cam 2 ? Or assigning different stills for cam1 and cam2 ? (Yes with atem mini)
@dvestore4 жыл бұрын
Might have to use Media Player 1 and 2 for the BG, then use a macro to swap with the take.
@robinmordasiewicz4 жыл бұрын
The USB output of the Atem mini is locked to a compressed MJPEG. If you connect another USB capture device to the HDMI OUT and compare the picture quality to the built in USB output you will notice that it’s very compressed and not a very good picture quality.

Maybe you have an idea. I want to have a chroma key for the studio environment BUT ALSO a DVE to have a PIP placed in the scenario. But I do not find a way to use both at the same time. Has anyone an idea? It would help me VERY much ;-)
@kipling19574 жыл бұрын
I'm using this for simple PIP. I want PIP to turn on automatically whenever I switch to a particular input instead of having to hit the PIP ON button each time. Is this possible? Thanks.
@jeffgough4 жыл бұрын
Yes it's possible. I'm on a Mac, but probably similar on Windows. There are two pieces of software on your computer controlling the ATEM: "ATEM Software Control" and "ATEM Setup". Open the ATEM Setup application and click on the picture of the ATEM Mini to configure it. Once in there, scroll down to "Panel Settings" and choose the radio button "Stay on with transition" under the "Picture in Picture keyer" section. This means the PIP will persist across transitions.

I had a question, are the two outputs able to send different signals? Or are there just two different outputs sending the same things?
@dvestore5 жыл бұрын
Program will always output to USB. HDMI Output is selectable in ATEM software to preview HDMI 1,2,3,4 or PGM
@PaulStephenson0034 жыл бұрын
@@dvestore For beginners/newbies to ATEM and live video it would be great if they would have labeled Output to HDMI Output or been a little more clear in the UI :). I had a hard time reproducing what you were showing until I realized that I was only using USB-C (webcam) view which only shows program (to your point). Thanks for the education!
@PaulStephenson0034 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this! Great review. Question: Can you do any transformations on incoming video - like flip horizontally? This would be crazy good for us if possible since we are trying to create a live lightboard streaming solution. I have the mini, and am new to ATEM. :) lots of experimenting and learning and not sure if this is possible but don't believe so currently.
@dvestore4 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, I double checked the manual and unfortunately there is not a way. We do sell a lot of Decimator MD-HX converters which will do this easily. www.dvestore.com/decimator-md-hx-miniature-hdmi-sdi-cross-converter-with-scaling-frame-rate-conversion/

Thankyou! Once I realised that you had the screen on Camera 1 and your talking head camera on Camera 3 all good! (I got turned around :P) Can I confirm you cannot use the normal PiP with Keyer? you end up with a green background in the PiP? So we HAVE to use the ATEM mini control and flying key buttons to move back and forth? I'd really like to set the flying key (top left, bottom left, full) to a hardware button on the mini, not have to find it with the mouse when I'm streaming. Any thoughts? Maybe a macro or keybinding on streamdeck or something? thank you!

What mic and camera are you using? How are you plugging your audio into the camera?
@dvestore5 жыл бұрын
GAiPS RODE performer. It is the RODELINK rack mount version for studio / live use. Plugged directly into ATEM Mini. Had a few mics to choose from, yet this one was already out and ready to go
@gaips5 жыл бұрын
@@dvestore so the Rode rack is a 3.5mm output to 3.5mm input on the Atem?
@dvestore5 жыл бұрын
GAiPS RODELINK performer has XLR with a MIC/LINE switch. We set it to mic and used an XLR to 3.5mm cable
@BobKartyMusic4 жыл бұрын
DVE Store In other videos about the Mini, it was said that the microphone inputs need to be delayed to sync with HDMI video, which is has an inherent lag of a few frames. Maybe I missed it, but there didn’t seem to be sync issues between your voice and image. Why not? Thanks!

Any one else having issues with the flying key working? It's greyed out for me.

Thank you for this! I know that the current software will only allow still images to be loaded as a Chroma Key backdrop. I'm making the switch from Wirecast and being able to use video backdrops was nice. If I plug the camera in front of green screen into HDMI 1 and then a laptop into HDMI 2, any issues with using the video being played by the laptop as a Chroma Key video backdrop? I haven't had my hands on this device but I'm assuming that your backdrop could have been a full-screen video playing vs. your Mac's desktop? Sub and Like added!
