Farrel Rumate Yeah, exactly. Even if they were trying to remake a Sonic design of their own, his proportions are just... wrong. Everything about this Sonic design is very disjointed and hard to look at. Maybe it looked better in drawing, but translated to 3D, it just falls flat on the uncanny valley. It looks nothing like Sonic OR like a hedgehog, just a weird amalgamation of both creatures.

Sonic's new look is making the super mario brothers movie look good. We have the technology to make cartoon characters look realistic and yet they decide to give sonic a facelift if it isn't broken why fix it.

Super Mario Bros always LOOKED good character wise (aside from Bowser). It's just the plot was dumb and... Bowser. (shakes head) It's like Sonic decided to do Super Mario Bros in reverse. The villain looks spot on! And the plot looks like it COULD be decent. Everything else? (slams face into brick wall)

A movie that butchers its source material - that already VERY little plot to it at the time of said movies release - and turns it into something completely different vs A movie that at least follows the basic source material - hedgehog vs scientist - can't use any of the games plots for its own plot, and is at least trying to appeal to everyone and not who knows what the former was aiming for. Yeah, Mario still wins here, but it's one category he shouldn't be happy to win in.
