we use the $5 timers with the pop up tabs and a few relays ($3-5 each). One timer does roll up and one does down with power reversed. Easy peasy. The motors already have automatic stops on them so give power for 15 minutes and you're good.

Your motor is over loading from weight or bad bearings.

Chem Dog is probably correct. How long is your greenhouse? Are you using 1 3/8" 16 gauge as your rolling bar? Also, do you have 100w dep motors? Sometimes you see cheap 50w ones sold on Amazon, etc. www.lightdepsolutions.com

like lighdepsolutions said use the 100w motors. They will get warm but only operate for a few minutes at a time.
