Also for those who dont know, in the tunnel rats track, where theo said he doesnt know where to go when picking the two paths, he could of took either one, they both lead to the same check points in the race, thus why you saw arrows signs pointing to both paths at 6:07, and why there was no barriers blocking either path.

You put higher octane fuel in your car, thus meaning more power gain, thus meaning more torque, which means you pulled quicker than he did the first time.

To me, if you think the car’s handling sucks, you don’t have enough skill to be behind the wheel of that car, I believe you need to bond with the car in order to be worthy enough of sitting in the drivers seat of that car.

so what i found out in this game is the AI can actually hustle you, you will challenge them to a race and they will seem relatively easy or as if their car doesn't have much horse power and you beat them. only for them to call you back for "double or nothing" and then race with the full power of their engine to try and take double what the betting wage was. I've noticed that frequently their car is SUPER slow in the initial challenge and then in the double or nothing the exact same car all of a sudden just happens to be a lot faster and i have to try harder. the level of detail in this game is insane and i love it

So I’d spend more time chasing them in the race then being ahead

This dev made his dream game, and it ticks so many boxes that remind me of older games: NfS Underground, TXR and so on :) Very promising even in this Beta demo :) Good thing this gets so many reviews and free testing now, some stuff needs optimizing. 9:35 Drag races in NfS UG1 where also stupid hard some times, but atleast restarts didnt cost money... The game should make the route more clear. Its not about the game being " too hard" its about showing what to do/ where to go before players loose their minds of something they seemingly have no control over.

@BlackPanthaa For those tunnel races, unless the lane is COMPLETELY blocked by red arrow signs you can actually take either side. The GPS will bug making you think you have to go back and you will show as being in 2nd place, but as long as you keep going through each checkpoint to the end, you will actually end up winning... even if it said you were in 2nd when you crossed the line.

A golden advice i always stay behind the npc and when we reach the end i pass him. Also when u have 5 races u don’t wanna restart on the first lose it will cost you, you still have two tries to go. Upgrade ur car first to gain money and customize the appearance later.

initially i thought the checkpoint system was a bit off or not intuitive, but further playing the game ive come to enjoy them. i think there is still room for improvement but fundementaly i think the concept of how they work in this game is great. it makes you learn the streets and particular tracks just like how real street racers hone in their areas and know the roads back to front. this is how real street racing legends are born.

That was before all the bug reports started flooding in from the patreon early access demo. He's been releasing patches for the demo every few days now to get it polished before the public gets their hands on it. There is a serious show stopper bug in the demo right now making some people not be able to play the demo at all. So I assume, he wants that fixed before it goes public. First impressions matter. The dev is hoping the patch this weekend fixes that issue. I hope so too. I can't wait for the demo to go public so i can see the reaction.

Nowadays, AAA racing games are stale, it's still the same crap underneath with a new name and they keeps spinning in circles instead of thinking about more interesting and genius ideas. No wonder why AAA racing games are too boring. They were more better and varied in the past due to many racing game licenses with different approaches in order to standout from eachother. The current ones are either unfinished, overpriced garbage full of unbearable bugs, full games which are actually meant to be massive expansions, keeps following/repeating the same direction instead of bringing novelties to the table or has crappy driving physics that ruins the core gameplay.
