5:58 I can vouch for this as someone who's began to use unbound models for blender. Each and almost EVERY panel has around 10 or more variations, which means there are thousands of variations of common parts for all of the cars, making it hell to add tons of extra customization.

Yeah, plus we also have to remember all these cars & their kits all have damaged models. Those dont come out of thin air. Unless Unbound gets a big boost in development budget, we're not gonna see too many cars being added each volume. I'm surprised that we're getting two now too instead of just one. Ideally, I'd love to at least get 3 each volume (so its like 1 per month) but we can only hope. Hopefully next year if Unbound is still getting updates.

This also explains why the car list is mostly re-used since 2015 and Payback, and why there are a lot of variations of the same car model/generation (i.e. the convertibles and how many 991 and Lamborghini variants exist).

Speaking of Speedlist matchmaking, we may get a rank matchmaking system. The Year 2 Roadmap article for Unbound says that it will include "Ranks to earn" which may mean we can get a new matchmaking system, making a complete positive overhaul to the matchmaking system we already have for Unbound. Hopefully this happens and I'm really excited for these new updates!

Speedlists was the same reason I kept playing 2015 like I was for the first few years, even when Payback was out for a bit and was pretty new I was still rocking with the speedlists they had because even after a few years that game is still pretty entertaining to me tbh. 2015 wasn't great no, but it wasn't as bad as everyone said it was, especially being only at night and always wet (which made the cars look BEAUTIFUL but again, NFS fans can be quick to get mad over nonsense)

Simple , Buy a Pink Ticket and slap it on your car and move it into a "Pink slip Garage" (Only if you know you wont regret losing it) and only use that garage for Pink slip races , (cars that get moved in the Pink Slip Garage are Not Available to Drive at all)

The thing is, what'd make that car so special that people want to race for it then? I've always found this to be the problem with incorporating pink slips in the game, especially in online. atm, only thing I could think of is having some new cars that are only attainable via pink slips. Have a limited number of them in online & distribute it to some players somehow. THEN you race for pinks with it.

That's the whole point of pink slips. If they really want to make it "fair" and also give the risk-reward dynamic, then pink slips races should be an option and not required at all. For the pinkslip losses just add an "insurance" mechanic. Where if you did lose a car via pinkslip race. Just have that exact car be accessible via direct purchase with in game currency. Bump up the price from what initially was spent so its not as simple as getting your car back like nothing happened

As for the adaptable bumpers to fenders topic you mentioned, i hope the way they do it is efficient, like with model flexes, as opposed to entirely different bumper models just to match it. This would save a heap of trouble implimenting.

So the pink slip thing is a very touchy point because let’s use the last game I can think of that ran pink slips. Juiced, so if I remember correctly the viper was the meta car when it came to pink slip racing every person ran the viper so literally every race was against the viper. So let’s fast forward to what the meta car is in unbound, I think it’s still regrera so imagine every race you get in it’s gonna be a regera. So where the fun in that. Now let’s add the connection part. Everyone is not running Gigabit connection it’s some person running on xfinity or comcast and cannot keep a stable connection. So when a person drops connection then lose the car due to unstable connection I genuinely would be pissed, hey that’s gaming world we live in

Iirc, MCLA was pretty traditional. U went to certain meets that held pink slip races. If you lost you just had to go back to the same meet and try to win it back. Also, if you wanted to cheese it out, you could just turn off Autosave and just restart the game if u lost.

When adding a different bumper or fender, etc you can edit how large the fender goes out or certain features of the bumper.

Eh. 40 vinyl/decals max isn't a lot and every car has less parts compared to Carbon. PS gets a bit better with mods where you can just make an HD livery in DDS form and import it to the game that way.

The drifting needs to be like a mix of underground and carbon. The pink slips should be like tokyo drift first race and fast and furious first race. So option for long drag or circuit or sprint. Expand the map just a little and make a race wars area which can double as a meet area.

From a weekly smokey NFS Underground "party" at College decades ago until today, I have never played the multiplayer on NFS. Passing the controller on the single player has always been the route if there's a bunch of us. Kinda interesting given the variety of groups that I have come together to play this with and *all* have intuitively played the single player and passed the controller. Even with a dozen people and 10 machines to hand - we had 3x machines running the single player. The Worms LAN vibe is always the best lol

I think for pink-slip races to keep them fair collision should be turned off between just other racers so they can't unfairly ram each other to try and easily get the car by totaling them out. Because otherwise this is going to be what they always try to do which for me would just ruin the experience.

What the game could really benefit from is a race-creator mode. That would be a nice feature to have where you could make your own race layouts. There are a lot of races currently that do not explore some awesome shortcuts nearby or jumps. A lot of the map is not even raced upon. Being able to make your checkpoints would be awesome. It would be cool if there was even a separate race mode where you could pick up power-ups like in the Midnight Club Series.

The whole bounty system idea reminded me of Watch Dogs 2 hacking invasions, where a random player would appear in your session (even if in single player) and try to hack you before you found them and neutralised them. This idea actually fits pretty well in NFS, could be called Vigilante heat level or something, where another player randomly joins in on your pursuit on the cops side. It definitely wouldn’t be an easy thing to implement nor be as seamless like in WD2 but still a very cool thing for them to consider adding.

I'd imagine pink slip races to be between friends only. Like, you have to be friends with your opponent for like 7 days (that cancels out that quick trading between cars because in that time, you can get pretty much any car you like) and that you would maybe make it price based. I'm talking about the game keeping track of the money that was spent on a car and only being able to race against a similarly priced car. That might lower the stakes a bit but still have an interesting dynamic because you might still lose a car you like but not getting nothing for your win. I mean, this could also all be made configurable I guess? That you do a setup for a pink slip race, your friend accepts the conditions and then you both get to pick the car you want to use from your garage that matches your settings. I think pink slip races would be a hard one to balance but just that first thing of making it only between friends might be something that would help countering a "blackmarket" for car trades.

They could add in a blacklist expansion. You’ll go from event to event racing members of the BL and then there could be cards to choose to see if you win the cars. If you miss out there could be a second chance way to get them. Then at the end you can win razors mustang. The old one not the new one 🤷‍♂️

You could have pink slip races, but they would have to be AI controlled races where the two people can watch the race play out. Now if someone were to disconnect, either by accident or on purpose, race is a draw, no one loses anything. But DCing too often, you can no longer do pink slip races. Might not work, but its an idea

I liked the drifting in unbound and Heat. It wasn’t possible with every car. And it always depended on your build. I always saw that as a plus since it kinda forced players to engage with the game’s tuning and upgrade system. People who complained usually never experimented the different parts or cars. But I do understand that it’s pretty unintuitive for a game that supposed to be extremely accessible.

Well they could work off a pink slip race and "head to head" build race! The pinkslip race should just allow you to obtain the car your racing against in stock form.... basically a way to get a free car! The person you raced keeps their car.... Then you have build races...where you go head to head against a player...I would say a series of 3 races...1st to 2 wins.....wins the car build. Then what they could do you truly celebrate the anniversary is take NFS High Stakes (in name alone) and add a bunch of high stake races and take what's already there and create this new way of beating them! So with the build races, one could do a high stake.ome where it's just one race wins it all! Giving options to this I think is what would help...More ways and options of doing so might deter people...yano when ya got babies nowadays Gotta have an easy button 😂

Yeah, i haven't really touched the multi-player. The single-player garage not syncing to multi-player was a pretty huge turnoff. Dont like the idea of having to basically re-grind for cars i already have. Multi-player also just needs a way to connect and join other players looming to do certain things. User created lobbys or ways to group up with players to do things like drag racing or meet-ups. Its Really something these new racing games are missing.

I think making the BMW M3 GTR purchasable for everyone in both Multiplayer and Story Mode, either as a standalone Microtransaction or using the in-game currency, rather than buying the Monthly EA Subscription Plan, it would be a great alternative for BMW M3 GTR lovers. 💯🧐🤔

For the adapting part with the bumpers and the fenders was something i really liked it startet in heat where i loved it on the r34 but sadly for the r34 it went back to not do it on the ztune bumper and the wide fenders and that sucks big time...

i would love at least new events and cars on single player. i dont have the money to pay for playstation online service (in brazil is expensive af) so that would make my want to keep playing the game for a long time

I think a good way to do pinkslips would be having a substantial buy-in cost but not having the loser lose their car but just have the winner get a duplicate of it and the loser just doesn't get anything. It adds risk without making you lose one of your favorite cars due to a bug or connection error.

I want to see impound strikes come back. When the cops come after me in this game, I can just pull over and get busted and not lose anything, besides money. (but if you have every car you want, money is pretty much meaningless) Make me want to lose the police so I don’t get my car taken away. And also the challenge series, pursuit breakers, cost to state, and bounty I would like to see return, as well.

There is going to be a resurgence to Need for Speed they are finally updating the game in a way that makes it current and new. There is a battle pass now and if they can focus on Drifiting, Offroad and racing and make sure that it is done well enough to attract all those different players. I also think the possibility of pink slips is amazing and I think they should have a mode where it randomly selects a car from your garage like that old car card game.

There’s definitely a larger resurgence of players playing Unbound and it helps that it’s part of PS Plus Extra as a freebie, not to mention it’s literally $6.99 if you don’t have the Extra tier or just want to outright buy it for when it inevitably leaves PS Plus. I’ve pretty much been in full servers everytime I’ve booted the game up past few days.

God i want them to add the drag races like the underground games, i hate the modern way of drag races ghost games did, this aint drag races, those are sprint races with a manual transmission, ESPECIALLY IN PAYBACK I HATE THESE RACES Blackbox did a really great job at those races, prostreet included

Imagine if they combined Underground 1 and Prostreet's drag racing features into one awesome mode: do a burnout at the start to get the largest rev range for a good launch then dodge traffic and barriers on the road (road dividers, construction work, the damn train etc) while also dealing with elevation changes and jumps while trying not to overheat the engine. If done right it would be perfect.
