to answer your questions: -since coachella released first that blackpink were included on the lineup many blinks around the world bought tickets just to see them perform live. -they were the most talked about artist that night and they gained many new listeners and millions of followers after that. -many blinks and also BLACKPINK MEMBERS were also shocked because of the massive people attended their stage tent. -many celebrities and famous influencers watched their performance ( smith's family, diplo, khalid etc. and even ariana grande twitted that she badly wants to see them perform but she's also performing at that time) -fun fact: they both performed on week 1 and week 2 -they are the first korean girl group to perform on coachella👑

Awesome reaction. Remember seeing these 2 years ago and people just going crazy over them and even doing fan chants, especially Jennie's rap was amazing. For really stripped back versions, I highly recommend their cover of Big Bang's Loser this was released closer to debut and not many people know about it, but it was a live in a radio studio cover. First time we really got to see do something like this.

This is their "OMG, they're real!". In the west Kpop was consider to be lip sync/autotune music genre. Blackpink blew that away in the first 2 minutes. The songs were rearranged for a live band, who is Band 6. The band is YG's go to touring band, since the days of 2NE1 and Big Bang. I watched the concert on live stream, both nights, and was blown away. You should watch their interview on the Zach Sang Show, taped the Wednesday following the first Coachella weekend. Their performance was named one of the Top Twenty performances in the 20 years of Coachella. One a "stripped back" performance to checkout is "Sure Thing" a Miguel cover they sang on Korean TV soon after their debut.

Jennie live rapping is ALWAYS aggressive and her live delivery is what makes her my favorite rapper…. Main rapper jennie does not play and her flow switches and quick cadence and how clean she is… it’s just nuts… her approach is always different so it never gets old and she uses different tones and stuff… it’s just crazy! But yeh Jennie’s live rap hits different Jisoo wasn’t hurt in this one.. it was the week before but of course she was flawless both weekend and sounds like perfection and she looks fine af!!!

Shout out to their band for Metalling up these songs. Rose's vocals are OUTRAGEOUS!! And Jennie is throwing stares at the audience SO ICEY they could cut thru solid steel. She does the same thing in videos. She effortlessly throws these icey stares into the camera that you almost imagine are aimed at some individual somewhere on earth who instantly was sawed in half and died on the spot. She is a mood!! Nobody looks like Jennie! LOVE HER!!!

BTW, they were a huge story before they got to Coachella. Because of who they were, it had never been attempted before (k-pop has been there since also), they were already this super popular thing around the eastern world. Not played on western radio and barely registering on Billboard charts here. Afterward, they were one of the biggest stories ever!! That they had done this thing. They had made this epic appearance,.. and now everyone knew who they were. It was newsworthy story after story about them.
