Usually what I see people wearing hanbok, it kinda look uncomfortable for me. Maybe because of the size and multiple layer. So when theres modern hanbok or new hanbok, make it look easy to wear and seeing the designer wearing it herself, mix and match with her blouse its so beautiful. And if I have one for myself, I really want to wear it on my daily life.

As someone who loves textiles and art from different cultures, I really enjoyed this interview! In India and South Asia, there is a very active scene of similar designers who modernize traditional patterns and styles, and its really amazing to see. I own a few clothing pieces like that myself. One popular practice is repurposing old sarees, which come in so many patterns and colors. I'm bengali, and near my grandparent's home there is a huge multi story store that specializes in clothing, decor, stationary etc. inspired by bengali traditional art. They blend really well into our modern settings, and it makes me hope that every country with a beautiful and artistic culture is able to showcase it and not let it fade.

I as well as many others have already noticed and commented on the improvement to all the members clothes design. I really appreciate it David, that you were able to get this rare opportunity to interview such a talented and lovely lady. I so highly respect her wishing to evolve for practical purposes but maintain traditional dress designs for every day wear in South Korea. It is a great reflection of the younger generation wanting to maintain fashion history in a way seen out on the streets and promotes National Pride. Boy we ALL can use some of that right now. She mentions making a point in distinction between Hanbok and Kimono to educate the world in Korean dress during her travels. Thank you again for a fascinating interview. Just checked out her website. She should also market her scarves as 보자기s (bojagi). People like the idea of multi-use products. A scarf, handkerchief, face mask, and wrap in one. I can't deny that at first I thought it was a Kimono. Because the first one that got populer to be a simplified design such as Outer etc is in Kimono keyword or terms. But then I notice that... wait a second, it is quite short for a Kimono, so it is upper part of Hanbok. I hope her design can be exported anywhere. I really love her design. So, I would say that yes, kpop idols have a big influence in making people interested in Hanbok, and Korean culture in general. this is so cool! I've always wondered about what brought about the idea of "shin-hanbok" because I've always loved looking at traditonal clothing, but to actually make a version more wearable in today's society is s really cool concept.
