I agree with a few of the other comments, definitely check out some boy groups too. Monsta X is great (Stuck, beautiful, Shine Forever) they're a 7 member group. Seventeen is a great group too (Don't Wanna Cry, Crazy In Love dance practice, Boom Boom) they're a 13 member group. Big Bang is definitely a must when it comes to kpop , they're known as the kings of kpop (BangBangBang, If You-Tour Report in Bangkok, Sober, Fxxk It) I suggested those for Big Bang cuz they're all so different, they're a 5 member group. Here is some information to help you understand the kpop industry (Sorry it's going to be a little long.): Kpop is Korean based pop music that comes from the Korean music industry, but it is not always sung in Korean. Many groups also release songs in Chinese and Japanese. Kpop is very different from western music. Groups are formed by their companies (or what the western industry would call record labels) These kids train for years most of the time from a really young age, some as young as 10 years old, all in the hopes of becoming a kpop star. Korean music companies hold auditions and Asian children from all over the world attend these auditions hoping to be selected by the company to start the training program. if a company sees potential in someone they then join the company as a trainee. They spend years training in dance, singing, public speaking, foreign languages, acting, etc. The amount of time someone spends as a trainee depends on how talented someone is. After some time, if they are lucky, the company decides a trainee is ready to become a member of a group. To create a group a company selects several trainees adding and subtracting members until they find the right dynamic and the mix of vocals, dance and visual talent they are looking for to satisfy whatever concept they are going for with the new group. Once forming the group the trainees spend several more months or years training together as a group. Kpop groups live, work and train together, their group members become more like family than their own families. Once a company decides a group is finally ready they are allowed to debut and finally become an official Kpop group -- they are given a name and a style and concept is given to them, they are given their first song and official choreography to go with the song and they begin appearing on variety shows, on music programs and they release their first music video and promotional content. The dedication and perfection you see is what makes Kpop so epic.

Not all Kpop members are Korean. Many groups, such as BackPink have members who are from other countries. For example, with BlackPink, Lisa is from Thailand -- she isn't Korean and Rose is Korean but she was born and raised in New Zealand, Jennie is Korean but she lived and studied in New Zealand as well. Jisoo is the only member who is a native Korean. And this is only an example -- a majority of groups these days have at least one member who is not native Korean. Many idols have multiple nationalities such as Korean-American, Korean-Canadian, Korean-Australian or some that aren't even Korean at all. Some members are Chinese, Thai, Taiwanese, or Japanese or Chinese-American, Chinese-Australian, Chinese-Canadian etc. Therefore one of the components to being a Kpop star is the fact they all are expected to speak multiple languages and they try and learn the language and culture of whatever country they visit and of every country where they have fans.

Welcome to the world of Kpop. What BlackPink does is not unique. The whole Kpop industry is exactly like what you see there. When learning a new set of choreography a kpop group will spend on average about 10 hours a day in the dance studio for a week learning the new dance and then they spend about a month perfecting their moves before they debut the dance in music videos and on stage during concerts and at music programs and awards shows. All Kpop members are expected to be able to dance and sing and/or rap so to be a member of a Kpop group you have to be able to do both.

Y'all wondering how many time they rehearsed this? like a LOT.. lots.. lots. This is not fifth harmony/little mix disaster ( no offence ) and they barely even try to hide it. Sure those groups can sing but they look uncoordinated, unorganized and disjointed mess when performing on stage, looking at 5H. Kpop groups undergone training prior to their debut and it even lasts for years. They were trained from dancing, singing to acting so when the time they debut, they'll look/sounds polish and perfect. Kpop groups are not the traditional groups we seen here in the west who can only SING. They tends to give more emphasis on every areas. Each member should be able to sing, dance, rap or actand they should be IN SYNC and ON POINT as a group. They're very superficial with performing and looking good, that's what makes Kpop and it's groups very different from what we have here.

Gods' Generation in general I think of kpop as a whole likes to focus more on visuals than the west does (choreography, colorful MVs, every group has a designated "visual"). It's very entertaining and I love it, tho personally I still hold vocals and harmonies to a higher esteem than choreography, also I may be bias but guys choreography in kpop tends to be more entertaining than girls.
