They are all contest winners for the record label, and they were assembled to create the band. The record label then put them in singing, dancing, etc. classes for (I think) 4 years before putting out the first songs. The girls all clicked together and they all wanted to be "THE BEST" ever. And the great thing about all of them, is that they are all still really nice, funny, personable, and humble. They are just fantastic!

They trained for 5-6 uear before debuting so yeah, kpop isn't typical artist who just got popular on one video then became this big. Mad respect to k-idols. They laterally learn how to dance, sing, rap, and even acting and learning new language.

They have the dance memorized (muscle memory) for each of their songs. So when they get on stage they all know exactly where in a song they should be. Why are they so skinny and always hungry?? to answer about choreo, uually the music is setn to different choreographers and then they chose the best parts for the choreo. usually a choreographer named Kiel Tutin has worked on most things from their older songs. Other big choreographer that worked not only with them but also with their labelmates is Paris Goeble. But lately their company (YG Entertainment) seems to be working more and more with their in-house dancers to make the choreos. honestly i hope they do focus more on the choreos of their dancers because they are amazing choreographers. One of them (Leejung) actually worked on Lisa's solo choreos, and a few other dancers worked on choreo for their live concert (of musics that still didnt have a choreo at the time), so there is hope that they might go for their own dancers to make the choreo for Blackpink.

If you want to see something fun and interesting, here's the same song, but this is their *rehearsal* , they were just learning it. It's a lot more casual, the girls are having fun getting used to the moves.
