normally you can check when they performing the encore. They still hit the note there. During the normal performance normally the backing track are loud because the music shows normal practice/requirement. Most groups definately use backing tracks most of the time and that doesn't mean that they can't sing but there are some groups that almost never use a backing track or you can barely hear it. That’s exactly what they do in terms of style. They’re given a rack of clothes and they choose their combinations and style for that reason. Sometimes they’re given matching materials but the styles are still dramatically different. Rose especially loves feminine skirts and dresses, Jisoo is very sophisticated, Jennie is classy but likes to mix and match, and then Lisa is the more eclectic one who loves style but also appreciates comfort. I think I prefer this one over the Pretty Savage video you reacted to because of the camera work. This one tended to show more of the group choreo, or stayed on the current vocalist. The other sometimes focused on other members at odd times. There are other versions of Pretty Savage which are better - both a full camera version, and a different performance. What amazes me about their live vocals is that they can still be so strong even when the choreography is bouncier. Adding to what others have said, they don't lip-synch. They do use backing tracks, which provide the vocal layering, and for times where the choreo means they can't use a mic (many of their live performances use hand-held mics).
