Now this is exactly what I wanted for BP- a dark fantasy concept, an actual storyline, lyrics that more or less make sense and something out of the box. The concept they did this time around is actually unique in K-pop and the storyline is pretty deep. Specially the beginning when Jisoo is trapped inside a cage, playing the zither with a cult surrounding her and the haunting "blackpink" chant before Jennie breaks the wall. I absolutely love how dark and sinister this concept is even though the anti drop did throw me off a little. Now if this doesn't get the hype it deserves like what people to lsg I'm going be so mad😤 I already see people hating because this wasn't a powerful, girl crush hype song. Like go and listen to other bp songs for that, they've done that so many times already! They created something truly unique this time, let them explore musically. I personally would love if they stick to this concept for a while.

It's probably bcuz bp is known for hard hitting songs and bomb gc choruses. So ofc ppl will take a few days to really accept this song. I wasn't expecting the anti drop in the chorus and ngl I didn't really vibe with it at first but considering everyone and their mother basically army crawled their way into teddy's studio to beg for a "new" concept, this speaks volume and i like it.

Jisoo has proven to us many times she could do anything. In Pink Venom, she definitely sang well, esp in that english part. Plus, she got more lines which for ONCE it's finally fair! If AESPA sings pretty much equally then so can BLACKPINK. With that being said, I'm just happy the line distribution finally was balanced 🥺 I'm hoping her solo will have some alternative pop-rock notes since her voice and tone, imo, fit that style more naturally > hip-hop (which is more Lisa & Jennie). She is edgy-rocker cool while the other girls are more hip-n-cool.

If this song was made from another girl group who wasn't as popular as Blackpink it would probably wouldn't be as hyped up. The song isn't too bad but the chorus is just so boring and kinda cringe, and the pre-chours doesn't fit with the music at all, and literally most of their pre-chours sound the same. NO HATE, I really like the intro part and the first verse and second verse though. The best part of this song is raps.
