Watch this KZbinr named mera on her video called “the real problem with blackpink”. That video explains everything us long time fans feel. And it’s ok if you don’t agree. But it’s important to be understanding and respecting people’s opinions. I felt like BP was heading to lose its popularity because for being as big as they are, YG should have them promote and make more music instead of having them be part time IG models and taking year long hiatuses between albums of only 4 songs. But also that everything was almost getting boring with their sounds. Not bad but just boring and I feel like BP could be far more dynamic as a group. They are artists first so I hope we see more music. Most Kpop groups that debuted last year have more songs than them before they dropped this album. But this album really did save them. For me the greatness of this album lies in the fact that the girls are finally talking about them, for an artist there is nothing greater and more satisfying than this! Jennie and Jisoo who co-wrote "Lovesick Girls" and Jennie co produced, in most of the songs they speak directly of them, all the hatred they have received over the years. Jennie rapper is back powerfully, Lisa fully showed her rapping skills because she said things she had been holding inside for a long time and that hurt her. Virtually all the girls rapped on the album, Jisoo was able to show all her vocal qualities and finally (for many who said she was unable to reach them) we had Rosè reach high notes! And they collaborated with two of their favorite artists Selena and Cardi.

To be honest, my first listen of HYLT and Ice Cream I was disappointed too but after listening, I grew to like them and when they started teasing us about LSG I was anxious because I don’t know what to expect, like hell HYLT and Ice cream are two different concepts like HLYT is more blackish and Ice cream pinkish. Then, LSG dropped and I-well, Blackpink. LSG made me cry so badly because watching the M/V I felt heartbreak, devastation and then when Rosé sang and the outdoor scene-the HOPE is strong. I feel like I completely connected with Blackpink here and more so when I heard The Album.
