Explanation 🤍✨ - First the girls are dead except for Lisa ( the sign : heaven is a place where nothing ever happens) and there’s another one that says ( dead people thing’s for sale) but as u see heaven in the mv isn’t beautiful or perfect ( sign that says : exit only ) behind Jennie, this means that they aren’t completely dead “ a lil bit something like” ( a line in the song) they still need to use the exit to be in a better place also Lisa ( the part where she was wearing black jacket ) she was walking on a crossroad ( the bridge in her part is a way between life and dead ) How did jennie , rose and jisoo died? Well u can see that rose and Jennie where wearing over size jackets that don’t really fit which means that it has to do with love ( boyfriends in general) their relationships where very important to them , Jennie : her boyfriend cheated on her , u can see in her part behind her was a yellow car with a sign that says ( I hope she was worth it ) and the blue sign on the building behind her says ( you owe me / look what happens with love ) in her solo part she was walking on a table with alcohol and bubble bath ( she killed her self in a bath after getting drunk) Rose : her first part says ( so easily with ur harsh words u put scars in my heart / I whisper in the mirror let’s slowly let this go / you take me for granted) it like she’s addressing this one person , rose was in a abusive relationship notice how the room she was in is so messy and the tv is broken and there’s in her part some destroyed statues which symbolizes her body means the bf killed her by abusing her physically but she didn’t do anything before coz she was so in love with him Jisoo in a one part she was wearing men’s clothes, holding a skateboard, she died by getting hit by a car while skateboarding notice how she’s sitting on the front on the car .. and the pink smoke in her part symbolizes her soul when she got hit So what about Lisa ? Lisa is still alive but on a bridge as a said so what does that symbolize? She’s in the hospital , the pink balloons symbolizes her sickness and the green smoke is her boyfriend waiting for her to come back when notive how she said ( this a letter from me to u ) she’s basically going to die soon u can see how she said her line while waking the other side , her other line says ( before the dark night traps me / done leave me / don’t leave today ) she wants him to stay with her in her last moments The question is why they can’t use the exit and live in a better place ? The answer is they not together yet , they’re waiting for lisa also u can see how they didn’t interact with each other at first even if they were in the same place it’s because lisa wasn’t there but after she died and joined them they started dancing and hugging each other , u can see some people wearing white waiting to take them to the other life but they didn’t pay attention to them Moral of the story no matter how imperfect the place they live in , if they’re together they will find happiness, after Lisa joined every thing changed and the sad place is a happy place now they don’t even need to use the exit anymore 🤍 ( be with who loves u and don’t stay in any abusive or toxic relationship just becoz of love ) this is the message I got this from a guy named Souka Yna

It’s the continuation of Playing with Fire MV, Jennie died in the bathtub there and now her sene is after life, wine and bubbles. Rose’ was laying down in front of the tv(living room) in PWF MV and now she playing guitar in the messed up living room, Jisoo was in the car in PWF and died from car accident(from Stay MV she is floating above car wrecked and pink smoke came out. Lisa was in the school bus in PWF MV, she hasn’t die yet so in Stay MV she is in a coma in the hospital as u see she just jumping around in the hospital hallway sene until she walks on the ledge then u see the green smoke now she passed away and all 4 girls are now together again dancing happy as u see angels stand around at the end of the MV

Theory: Blackpink as we all know talk about love and relationships through boombayah-stay. Though I believe that they each had a lover, though their relationship was toxic (Drugs, Arguments, Cheating, etc). Each of the girl fail in deep depression, Lisa is the only one not seen with a guy in PWF (but there Is a boy watching her in a bus) while the other girls are with their own guys. She sees they are hurting. Jisoo is hiding in the closet in PWF, meaning she's afraid and isolated because of her boyfriend's over possessiveness. Jennie can see feeling sad while riding on the motor with her boyfriend, she's in the tub playing a fire on a match deciding on her own thoughts. Rosé is in a toxic relationship, she thinks and doesn't know what to do. She loves him so much to leave the guy even though he's toxic to her, and you can see that she comes back to the guy while the 'FATE' Sign is burning. We could see towards the end, Jisoo remained isolated from everyone (suicide), Rosé laying in bed dozing off (overdose), and Jennie in the bathtub, blowing the fire out (she decided on death). The clock stops and Lisa wakes up to her friends dead. Now with Stay, Rosé Jisoo and Jennie are in the after life now. They are mourning and sad that they can do nothing. They are apart. Lisa is deciding to whether to stay or go to the afterlife with her friends. You can see she's walking on a bridge and dancing in a hallway that has no exit. She appears in the end with the girls and they are finally happy together. White sometimes symbolizes peace or purity, other times death. (Hints that its a continuation of PWF, Broken TV in Rosé's scene, Jennie with the bathtub bubbles and wine, and Jisoo on a swing representing freedom from isolation)

pink signifies romance, charm, inner peace, physical weakness, the tender kind of love, pink is also used to soften frustration. We already established that the song is about being on the verge of a breakup and asking the beloved to stay even though the situation itself is already hurting the persona. So I think the pink balloons flying represents the stage of letting go of the one you love and accepting the situation and pain it brings.The next scene shows the girls together in an abandoned place. The sign at the back says, “Heaven is a place where nothing ever happens.” If we take into consideration the fact that the director for iKON’s Apology and BLACKPINK’s Stay is the same guy, everything would make sense. In the last part of Apology MV, a message says, “To love is to receive a glimpse of heaven.” I’m assuming that heaven in Stay is still associated with love. They got to experience heaven when they fell in love but now that the one they love is leaving, that heaven has become a place where nothing ever happens because they were left on their own.I feel like Rosie’s scene represents the first stage of post-breakup: Denial expressed in sadness. She’s wandering on her own to think where did it go wrong, at what point did the relationship start to fall apart, etc. Even her lines are begging the other person to stay with her.The next scene is Jennie’s part; the charmant sign caught my attention because charmant in French means charming or bewitching (hence, prince charming). So it could mean that the persona got bewitched by the person he/she loves or by love itself. I don’t think the drinks were put randomly either; it most likely symbolizes the stage of a breakup where we would get drunk to forget. At the back, there’s a sign that reads, “You owe me; look what happens with love.” It’s message that holds so much resent and pain in its tone. So basically, I think Jennie’s scene represents the anger stage after breakup where you would rather drink to forget and blame that person for all the pain. In Jisoo scene two colors are noticeable in this scene: purple and yellow. This is another irony; yellow represents hope while dark purple represents the feeling of sadness. At the side, there’s also a sign that says “It’s a good day.” I think Jisoo’s scene represents the stage of breakup where you’re trying to be okay even when you’re still broken. I might be reaching but at first, I really thought Jisoo sitting on the swing by herself symbolizes being left hanging. Jisoo’s trying to find hope but the dark purple smoke shows her true feeling of sadness. In the chorus, the car was shown in the background and what caught my eye was the message, “Hope she was worth it.” This gives us the impression that the guy left her for another girl (3:10). In Jennie’s rap part, she was asking “him” to stay with her even though they’re having difficult times and it’s hurting her. Another stage of grief after breakup: bargaining.There’s a green smoke while Lisa was rapping. Green represents hope, growth, and rebirth. I think Lisa’s scene represents the final stage: acceptance. In the other scenes of the song, Lisa was seen inside the building by herself but when her part came, she’s already outside; I think it signifies how we keep our pain to ourselves but there would come a time when we’ll finally be strong enough to let the pain out, accept everything, and welcome a new start. Lisa’s aligned with the color green: hope and rebirth At (4:47) were the colors shoot up Jennie with orange: change and freedom Rosé with blue: faith and stability Jisoo with pink: inner peace and acceptance Basically all the colors represent the feelings after letting go. (6:15) So the last scene shows all four girls dancing and hugging. I think this scene concretizes the feeling of freedom after letting go and accepting. There’s “I wish you were here” written under “Dance with me.” The latter message could be expressing the feeling of freedom while the former message expresses the longing. The time will come when you’d finally find the good in goodbye but it doesn’t mean that you wouldn’t be missing the person you once loved. It’s also noticeable how there are guys wearing white around them while they dance then in the next scene, it’s just the four of them dancing. White represents goodness and beginnings. I think the guys wearing white represent the goodness of every thing in the world. There’s a new beginning to look forward to. Thus, at the very last scene, the girls were genuinely laughing and dancing even though the guys weren’t there anymore; they have reached the point of new beginning.

The running theory about this music video is that something really bad happened in that city and everyone left, leaving them behind. The flumes of color are them sending signals (S.O.S) for someone to come save them. You can see an entire city across from them in that shot where they're on the bus, they're kind of wondering if other people survived the apocalypse in that city. Throughout the entire music video, they are longing for other people but when they come together in the end they have accepted that others aren't coming so they find comfort in each other. I've seen theories that the men in white behind them are angels and theories at that part get really meta but I don't know. This is my favorite Blackpink music video thank you guys for reacting!
