She just don't like to speak in English, because 1) it's not her mother-tongue, 2) simply no need to speak. All people around her are native Koreans except Lisa, who is actually desperate to master Korean. Unless she wants to make a debut in US - which is unlikely, it will be very hard for her to find any small reason to learn English.

"simply no need to speak. " So having a lot of internation fans that don't know Korean and want to understand them and ask them to speak english all the time is not important? They made japanese versions of the songs and they are learning that to please their japanese fans. Considering Blackpink is one of the most internation groups it would make sense to be able to speak english at a basic level.

But most hard for me is to write them on japanese because kanji is a very hard language to write but romanji is easy for you to said it

Living with Jennie, Rosé and Lisa is for sure the best way to teach Jisoo the language of English esp all 3 of them would casually converse in English every now and then. and the fact that they never even once corrected Jisoo's pronunciation is what makes it more special. You'll see how the three of them would gently correct her grammar and how to construct proper usage of words in English. Like how no one laughs at Lisa whenever she speaks Thai, they would even ask her to teach them (Rosé's Thai is improving) the basics. Like how no one laughs at Jennie and Rosé's kiwi and australian accents (repeating a sentence or a word that was pronounced differently while laughing is considered mocking). Never forget that with Lisa hanging around with Rosé way too much, her accent when she speaks English has a bit Aussie in it. It shows how these ladies respect each other's culture, interests, languages and progress. with Jisoo's intelligence, I tell you. She'll be fluent in English anytime soon.. You gotta love them ❤

I actually made a short video about Rosé's accent rubbing off on Lisa lol. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who has noticed. I love how respectful and encouraging they are with each other, especially when it comes to their cultures, language, interests, etc. It's refreshing to see. And Jisoo is nearly there, she just needs to be more confident in her speaking ability, because it's obvious she understands at least 90-95% of the things they say in English.

Eileen Kim I've noticed it too. Her accent sort of fades in and out. But I feel that's because she usually switches between speaking English and Korean most of the time. When she's speaking straight up English her accent comes back almost full force.It's not as strong as it once was, but it's still noticeably there.

I wonder if some of that is that she binge watches a lot of American TV shows and it's morphing her accent away from a New Zealand one as she is hearing English pronounced with another accent a lot. That would not be surprising. It happens to Americans living in Britain for an extended period or Australians living in the US for extended periods especially if they aren't around others with their accent very often. They start pronouncing words like the natives and using native colloquialisms almost subconsciously.

Yep, if she had to learn it better in a hurry, she would be well-prepared at this point. A YG-provided tutor, and the other members being told not to answer her if she says something in Korean would force her to finish learning pretty quickly. At this point it is really just a matter of practice speaking and not just listening. She understands English, but is probably still translating it into Korean in her head. The next step for her would be thinking in English where she doesn't stop to think that apple equals sagwa or vice versa. An apple is simply an apple when needing to speak with a person in English.

what i like about blackpink members, even though 3 of them are english speakers they teach jisoo proper english grammar & etc. but not to correct her pronunciation like other groups, she just copy their accent a lot of times mostly for fun but in any BP english video i never saw them correcting her that this is the right way to say this. they respect each other just as jennie (kiwi) & rose (aussie) can't correct each others accents. they help each other in a very respectful way that they also embrace thai culture for lisa.
