11:56 If I'm not mistaken, that bladestorm was specific to Blackrock Blademaster. I noticed it was different too when I used to play dota1 since Yurnero uses blackrock blademaster as a specific but kinda thought it was a custom asset for dota 1 and whatnot.

the animation of bladestorm is built-in into the unit model file thus red blade master has different visual effect than green one, and the same for Grom. and no other unit in the game can actually have such effect at all without custom content. my assumption is that their artists have updated the effect in Frozen Throne cause blademaster is PvP hero and thus regularly updated, but they left the old one for all Reign of Chaos units as campaigns are not getting updated ever

i think you are right, i managed to find a screenshot (couldn't find a video) of the exact same visual on the green blademaster except it had yellow bits instead of blue, so the visuals were even somewhat team related

Wish there was Classic SD options for shadows. Units with new graphics still blend into background. Classic SD shadows were round for all units and unit glow made them stand out more

The bladestorm is different because its maybe bugged, usual bladestorm uses fiery (red/orange) effect that comes from the blademaster, here it is not present.

It's quite simple: Just select the Blackrock Clan Blademaster skin in the collection and then pick Blademaster as your hero.

They aren't! I just loaded up a scenario in the world editor! With 0 upgrades on both sides, it took 15 hits for the tauren to kill the footman, while it only took 10 hits to kill the necromancer!

not grubby, but the issues he's expressed with them are poor implementation (lighting and animations) and flawed design (very pretty and cool up-close, but the detail-focused design disappears in the zoomed out overhead view and unit differentiation/readability becomes difficult)

Also, Blizzard decided that the new sounds have to be embedded with the reforged graphic which in itself also have some issues

What I mean is more about why he doesn’t use the classic old graphics for terrain, units, and so on, but switches to the Reforged graphics for heroes like Evil Illidan or Hellscream. I just don’t see any downside-they look great!

Why would a veteran at this game actively downgrade the experience in a way that bith disadvantages him and annoys that majority of his audience? I wouldn't watch a game with any of the reforged assets anymore than Grubby would play one. The sounds and models are just bad.

It's a setting, everyone has them now just open up your regular W3C client and change the skins in the menue. If if you couldn't find the option after 3 days you might legit be too dumb to finnish campaign on easy mode and should maybe just refind, FYI

Grubby why you dont use "fixed" reforged graphics? Map creators very happy with new messed reforged textures. Custom games ruined forever with new bugs and improvements

Because they're bad and not actually fixed, also there is no option to use any of the new assets with classic sounds, and Reforged sounds are so broken they make the game unplayable/unwatchable. It's like asking a Tennis pro when he's going to start stringing his Racket with spaghetti because you saw someone do it on tiktok... it's legit cringe.
