That was some great footage of... Spanish House?... I'm assuming. A friend of mine put his foot in a shark's mouth at that spot.

Sebastian, Spanish house! They never used to close out! What happened? Army Corps of Engineers, that's what happened. "Idiots"

Who cares if you are from Orlando or Gainesville if you like to surf. I learned how to surf in Cocoa beach pier & Sebastian. Living in Oahu. Most waves in this video would be considered 2 foot waves by Hawaii standards:) Enjoy surfing wherever you are :)

The local surfers in Florida are pretty cool and fun to surf with but the waves there and the Caribbean aren't impressive. Sigh I tried surfing from Jax down to Cocoa Beach and just disappointing how small the waves are in Florida. 6' is as good as it gets but that's standard in California all winter.

Jon P gets allot bigger then 6. you're just not a local and dont know the right breaks or the right conditions.

I don't doubt being a local would help. The conditions in Florida are very different than most other places I've been and I was very impressed by Cocoa Beach surfers ability to read the unique waves and sets there. I'm originally a local from Venice, CA. but I've found good spots from Trestles to Rincon almost anytime during November to March and the same for Hawaii. So I'm probably used to that. Sebastian seemed to be the best spot for 6' and over but only from September to November time frame outside of unusual storms or swells.

+Jon P jax to cocoa is the worst stretch of beach break. There is too much continental shelf
@chadponder12548 жыл бұрын
+Jon P if you think about, it takes way more effort and skill to surf the smaller waves because you generate your own speed, you have to have enough power in the legs to cut or snap, and you have to be smart about wave choice. Why do you think kelly slater trampled everyone from cali to hawaii 11 times?
@chadponder12548 жыл бұрын
+Jon P and i live in jax and we easily get 8-10ft swells. Hurricane joaquin put off 10 ft at the jetties (a local spot)

theres a lot of good spots when theres a good swell, but the inlets tend to be more consistent

i lived in sebastian. they're nice and can be consistant. but there are days its as flat at spanish house as it is at golden sands lol but when it rages, yes it is the best on the east coast!

Nope, sand. Best barrel spot in Brevard when it's on.

Yeah.. this is the small closed out beach break that I remember from the East coast. 3 to 5 Second rides and they think it's awesome. I surfed Alaska for a decade and trust me I'd much rather surf there. Les crowds bigger waves and longer rides.. paradise.

Hey everyone. Look at this guy from florida putting down people because they live an hour inland. Kind of like a person living in a garbage dump bagging on a person living in a sewer.
