Most blacksmithing channels have taken measures to mute that beautiful anvil’s ring. THANK YOU for keeping it. The ring is half the point. Also, fine work on the spring. Incidentally, my leg vise spring just failed. Now it’s my turn.

Excellent. Learned SO much. Amazing use of sledgehammer on workpiece when turning the end! So right about steel to use. I made with old leaf spring . Totally unnecessary, way to much force & wear on vise / threads. Good work

I have just bought my first leg vice as well and mine is missing the spring so this was a great video for me. My vice also has a crude mounting clamp so will be making one of those as well. I am completely new to blacks nothing , but loving that there are so many masters of the trade sharing their knowledge. Thank you

So you forged/fixed the garden fork and now the vise spring in the new smithy without a hood/vent? Keep up the good work and thank you.

You may not know this or maybe you do. Ill be subbing to your channel anyhoo. But one can put spring into a mild steel bar. I had a blacksmith from colonial Williamsburg share with me how to put spring into mild steel.

Did you add length to account for bends? What thickness of metal did you use? thanks good work
@forging4 жыл бұрын
From memory he used 6mm and wasnt to concerned on length. You won't loose much with the bends. 👍
