I’m not sure if anyone else noticed this, but I’m in love with your audio edits. Once the power hammer kicks on, your cuts between shots synchronize the tempo of the hammer. And you even have the hammer fading out as you transition to the shot at 15:34. You have a musician’s ear!
@torbjornahman3 жыл бұрын
Not many would notice that! It actually takes a little effort to make the cuts seamless. Thanks!

That air hammer has always impressed me with its range of striking force. I haven't seen any others that are capable of such delicacy - or at least I haven't seen any other air hammers operated with such finesse. I am very glad to see that you have given it the care and respect it deserves with this mechanical oiler; I'm sure it will extend the life of the hammer. I cannot imagine that this wouldn't please the ancient dwarven smiths; I'm sure they will reward you generously in the future for this act of kindness and responsibility (if they didn't gift you with the oiler in the first place). Where I live, 16.9° C is a pleasant summer day! The snow would be long gone.

A very interesting lubrication system. We have ratchet pumps. The driven hammer pulley has a groove in the shape of an eccentric. The pump has a thrust with a spring. It runs around the eccentric, thereby feeding the lubricant to each turn of the pulley. The balls are made by this method deserves special praise. I apologize for my English.

Great video, a pleasure to watch! Noticed that You used engine oil, just want to mention a potential problem to be aware of. I have used a straight oil without EP additives for my older machines since I learned that modern motor oils can cause damage to bearings and gearboxes. Bought an inexpensive straight oil without additives from Swedol for most purposes. EP additives can be quite corrosive to brass and bronze as I understand it. Remember a lengthy discussion about this on the "Maskinisten" forum.
@torbjornahman3 жыл бұрын
Modern synthetic oils are no good... does the mineral oils also contain that much additives?
@erikisberg38863 жыл бұрын
@@torbjornahman Yes, but in different amounts depending on the GL grade. A straight GL1 mineral oil is supposed to be free of sulfur Vanlube and other similar additives. The grade I found easily available here in Sweden is Q8 T25. I think it is still sold by Swedol. Have used it in the gearboxes and lubrication on my lathe and other machines as well. I think these problems became more widely recognized due to older Volvo gearboxes failing due to modern oils.
