Thank you for your time and information. Great looking Blade sure beats the taco method..👍🤙👏

Thank you sir. The taco method can be absolutely aggravating sometimes. I try not to use that method unless it’s a tomahawk or axe.

I’ve split a rr spike and done a San mi before too

Me too. I’ve also cut a spike down, split it, and forge welded in a full length 1095 billet to forge a blade from. Spikes make interesting experiments.

Nice work! My wife just traded my services in making a R/R spike knife and I thing this is the ticket. Thanks for the inspiration.

Nice work ! RR spikes make decent letter openers , forks , butter knives and occasionally a spoon , but not a skinner ; cut one steak with it and it will have to be sharpened

Yessir, that’s exactly right. That ‘HC’ on the head of the spike doesn’t mean a thing when ‘HC’ for a spike is only .30-.35 carbon. Can’t get that through to some folks though.

What are the chances for the weld to pop at quenching?
@serendipityforge3332 жыл бұрын
It’s always a possibility. I make sure the oil is nice and warm and everything has several good normalization cycles.
