Hi Glen - Great to learn a new twist! And it's a really interesting one too. Going to get busy and make a new set of dyes for my guillotine tool. As you said, you are using 3/8" square stock. What's the diameter of the hole in the tool you are using? 1/4"?
@danielcrawford73155 жыл бұрын
Was curious about that too. In the video he shows Max Reid's tool I believe and it was marked 1/2" though I'm not sure that's what his jig is...sure looks smaller reckon. Blessed days sirSir, Crawford out

That tenon jig's hole diameter is close to 3/8". square 3/8" , when held on the diamond, is close to 1/2". The guillotine tool should work better than this tenon jig. Thanks.
@gstongs5 жыл бұрын
Yes, Max's tenon jig in the picture is 1/2". And I think he used 1/2" square for the poker. When held on the diamond, it is wider than the flat to flat measurement. Thanks.

That's pretty awesome there. No shoulder standing here, just coat tail dragging lmbo. Gotta learn it somewhere...and you guys here on KZbin are teaching us newbies so very much. It's pretty amazing watching yall. Question? Is there much growth in the stock as you forge the parent stock?
@shadetreeforge5 жыл бұрын
Dan, I don't think there would be? after all you are compressing the material and displacing it sideways if anything materials gets a little shorter when you twist it. depending on what you do forging wise after that, like drawing out material then it will get longer...
