Am I misunderstanding what gets written into an A 101? If I am a GC, do I write out 'I am doing x' and then when you dig into the site and hit an unmarked pipe, you modify the A 101? Or is this phrasing off. I thought the A 101 covered things in a much more vague way. When you say you are 'changing' the A 101 my impression is this incredibly misleading phrasing. Wouldn't a 'change under the A 101' be how anyone would phrase it? You're not actually 'changing' or modifying the A 101. My girlfriend who is a contract lawyer also believes the phrasing of this question is erroneous if indeed you do not modify the A 101 when creating a change order. Otherwise, I would have guessed C and D right off the bat before

I agree, the way this question is phrased can be misleading. We do review our content on a regular basis and find ways to improve. The answers Change Order and Construction Change Directive are essentially addenda to the A101. That is, they are added on; the original A101 does not change.
